Standing ovation
5 stars is nowhere near enough for this book.I laughed until my belly hurt, I cried like a baby, i swooned and I fell even deeper in love with Lily and Lo!The character development of both Lily and Lo, from Addicted to you, to addicted after all, is unmatched. I honestly feel like I’ve been on this journey with them rooting for them every step of the way. It’s been truly beautiful to watch them get their happily ever after together!I think I’ve said this in every review I’ve done in this series so far, but seeing Lily and Lo, Ryke and Daisy and Rose and Connor together brought me so much joy.I loved the heartwarming moments of friendship between Lo and Connor. They really are best friends! I adored seeing Lo and Ryke’s relationship as brothers solidify even further I love them so much!!!I adored seeing Lily’s sisterhood with Rose and Daisy brought me so much joy! And seeing her friendship with Ryke and how much they care for each other made my day!And Lily and Lo’s relationship has me in a chokehold. Watching their individual journeys and how far they’ve both come, I can’t put into words how they’ve made me feel.I just have adored these two so much!🤍

I’ve loved every book published in the Addicted series and the ...
Since February 2013, I have ordered and read 583 books from Amazon, including all of the Addicted books, and this is the first review I’ve ever written. I read mostly new adult romance or paranormal romance by self-published authors (or self-published authors that have since been picked up by major publishers), and this is one of my absolute favorites! I’ve loved every book published in the Addicted series and the Calloway Sisters spinoff. My experience with self-published works has been that there are often a lot of grammatical mistakes, but I easily overlook them (or more accurately correct them in my head as I read) if the plot line is interesting and unique, the characters are fully developed and multidimensional, and the relationship dynamics are realistic and engaging. It’s always a bonus if you can identify with someone or something in the story or if you’re forced think about the way you see yourself or the world. This series and its spinoff have all of those desirable qualities with proper grammar! They truly are beautifully written.Like I said, this is my very first review, and I assume that beyond my opinion, I should provide context without spoilers. However, I can only conceive doing this for the entire series, including all Addicted books and the Calloway sisters spinoffs, rather than for Addicted After All only. Please do not continue if you have not read all previously released books. The main characters are sisters Daisy, Lily and Rose Calloway (ascending in age) and their potential love interests, Loren Hale (Lo), Connor Cobalt and Ryke Meadows, respectively. In my opinion, the Addicted the series is about their familial, friendly and romantic love for one another evidenced by their tireless selflessness and undying loyalty throughout the evolution of their relationships as they mature and strive to overcome life’s obstacles. It is incredible that they are all equally invested and committed to one another’s happiness and well-being.We’re first introduced to Lily and Lo, who have been best friends for as long as they can remember, having been raised together in an extremely affluent society. Lily is a sex addict and the daughter of a soda magnate and Lo is an alcoholic and the son of a baby product tycoon. When we meet them, they are living together at an Ivy League college, pretending to be engaged and helping one another hide their addictions from their families. The main plot line follows their relationship as they realize their true love for one another and commit to their joint recovery. Their character development and humanization allowed me to sympathize with those struggling with addiction. It is through their relationship that the authors dissect the double standards associated with sex and deconstruct the hegemony of gender roles.Lily doesn’t have much of a sense of self-worth, and her identity hinges on her relationships with others. Like with all people, her first identity stems from her place among her immediate biological family. She is her parents’ daughter and her sisters’ sister, but as her mother smothers her sisters with attention and barely attainable expectations, Lily goes by the wayside and is made to feel unexceptional in comparison and like she doesn’t belong. The only person who makes Lily feel valued is Lo, and she has been the most important person in his world since childhood. While Lily is raised as the most unremarkable of four daughters with no expectation to achieve anything, Lo is raised as an only child of a single, alcoholic father with the full weight of taking over his father’s empire placed squarely on his shoulders. Lo recognizes his father’s great success, but he sees his father as ruthless and never satisfied. His greatest fear oscillates between disappointing his father and becoming him. He seems to believe himself to be the sum of all of his father’s worst qualities, but when he sees himself through Lily’s eyes, he is hopeful and determined to be better.Rose is the first person outside of the couple to learn of Lily and Lo’s deceptions and addictions and immediately spearheads their recovery efforts. Rose is a super genius and overachiever, but it is the way that she comes across as cold and controlling with which I identify. I believe that Rose cares about very few but that her love and loyalty run exceptionally deep, making her loved ones her top priority. There is nothing that she wouldn’t sacrifice and no one she wouldn’t take on (and take down) for their sake. She may interject herself and overtake situations, but she’s almost always right, making it difficult for the others to stay annoyed with her.In my opinion, there are three very different impressions of Rose: who she believes she is, who the world thinks she is and who those that matter know she is. Rose believes to succumb to emotion is to be weak and identifies herself as entirely pragmatic. The outside world finds her to be angry and confrontational. Though, while she can undoubtedly follow logic as well as anyone, those who take the time to know her know she is emotionally driven, and they recognize that the only way she knows to express any emotion is through explosive aggression. Rose has to feel emotionally controlled, intellectually superior and maximally successful to maintain her skewed sense of self, which is why she has to win all arguments. This serves as the foundation for the relationship between Rose and her love interest, Connor.Connor is introduced to the story as Lily’s tutor, but we quickly learn that he and Rose have been connected and academically competing for years. They are simultaneously one another’s greatest opponent and perfect match. Connor also views himself as completely logical, but while Rose feels emotions are weaknesses that she must dominate, Connor seems to think he is super human, far more evolved than the rest of us, and unsusceptible to emotions at all. It is through his relationships with the other characters, especially Rose and Lo, that he discovers that he is vulnerable to all different types of love.Daisy is the youngest Calloway sister. She is a free spirit, endlessly curious and adventurous, struggling with being perceived as immature and naïve despite having worked as a high fashion model since a young teen. Her youth, attractiveness and spotlight make her an easy target as the younger sister of a female sex addict, and she is subjected to many trials and tribulations. Daisy is severely underestimated, though, and handles herself with poise and grace while silently enduring and smiling in an effort to protect her sisters. The only one who sees through her façade is Ryke, Lo’s recently discovered older half-brother.When Ryke is introduced to the story, Daisy is a minor and he is seven years her senior. While she flirts unapologetically, he stifles any romantic interest for years, focusing on building his relationship with Lo and helping him overcome his alcohol addiction. Ryke is a foul-mouthed thrill seeker, but he is a protector through and through, placing himself between his loved ones and anything he perceives as a threat to them. In the beginning, Lo’s health and the development of a relationship with his brother are the absolute most important things to Ryke. He risks his own happiness time after time, denying his affections for Daisy even to himself. Somewhere along the way, though, he realizes he is in love with Daisy, catapulting her to the top of his list.Addicted After All is the last book in the series from Lily and Lo’s perspectives. They have fought relentlessly to overcome their addictions and now must face their biggest hurdle without their crutches in order to secure their happily ever after together. I stayed home from work and read the whole book in one sitting on release day. Part of me wanted to stretch it out as long as I could rather than devouring it as quickly as possible, but my saving grace was the promise of Fuel the Fire and Long Way Down. Of course I’m anxious to see the futures of Rose and Connor and Daisy and Ryke, but I’m especially looking forward to seeing the relationships between Daisy and Rose, Rose and Ryke, Daisy and Connor and Connor and Ryke grow.
