A bit dated
There is a lot of information in this book but sadly it is now very dated. There is a whole section on building an intricate mechanical arrangement for monitoring exhaust gas pressure during the combustion cycle because electronic means of doing it would be too expensive. Nowadays the reverse is true of course. The core information and data in some chapters is useful for understanding exhaust system design but the experimentation obviously took place many years ago so leaves one feeling that knowledge has moved on. Perhaps of more interest as a historical view of techniques and thinking in previous decades rather than a means of learning about exhaust system design for modern engines.
