Great waterproof dressing cover
Really useful stuff. Used it to cover a dressing for a burn to be able to go swimming. Totally waterproof and sticks really well.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT for dressings and keeping medical patches in situ
Opsite is a very thin adhesive waterproof film which is used in hospitals to keep all types of dressing in place. I use it when medicinal patches come loose during hot weather. It has a low allergy level - great where traditional plasters and micropore cause the dreaded itchy rash.If you use medical patches you will know how hot weather and hot baths reduce their adherence and you begin to get that crackling sound when they are coming loose.I have used this film for 24-72 hours each time and it ALWAYS keeps patches in place that would otherwise have come off. This is especially important if you use morphine/analgesia patches because not only are they expensive, but if a patch comes off without your knowledge it's absence will eventually cause dreadful withdrawal symptomsOverall: a fantastic adhesive film which is cost effective and very reliable. I find one metre is enough for several weeks.

Use it to keep adhesive dressing dry in the shower
Had abdominal surgery and used this product to keep the dressing - as well as the wound itself - dry in the shower. It has worked brilliantly for this purpose every time! Tried all sorts of methods, but this is the only one which has allowed me to shower without worrying, being careful etc.I had to change my dressing every day, so the way this stuck to each dressing wasn't a problem (have to throw it away and put on a new one any way). If you need to keep your dressing on for longer though, I think this film would still be useful in the same way, just adapted a little (cut a piece of paper or cloth etc to a size that's a bit bigger than the size of your dressing, then cut this film to a larger size than that, stick the paper/cloth to the centre of the film, then place this over your own dressing). The seal of this film hasn't ever broken - if you're careful about how you put it on, I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Good film dressing. Reasonable price...
Opsite film can be a bit of a fiddle to apply but i think that's pretty standard for all adhesive film dressings, especially ones that you may need to cut to a desired size yourself. I use it to secure analgesic patches to my skin, preventing them from peeling off/ coming loose & compromising the integrity of the drug absorbing. The opsite film stayed on fairly well despite increased sweat production during the very hot summer we've just had. It didn't last in the swimming pool though, despite not being submerged in the water for long periods of time. I still prefer Tegaderm for top staying power but my regular supplier seems to have disappeared recently & I've been unable to get it for a price I'm willing to pay!! The opsite was a reasonably priced alternative & i wouldn't rule out buying it again.

Great for large wounds from Mountain biking injuries
This product saved my holiday - before my usual trip DH biking in the alps I did a great job of removing the skin from my left hip and arm. With only a few days to go I was not sure how to manage the injury as I was going to be highly active on the bike, in hot weather wearing full body armour. Using this with a non-adherent dressing worked incredibly well. I was able to wear the armour, ride and shower without affecting the wound site.I would note though, large abrasions where the basement membrane of tissue is visible needs an absorbent alginate type dressing as without the top layer of skin the basal layer leaks tissue fluid and the opsite will fill up with fluid like a balloon.

Gave me a rash
The actual product works, it’s easy to put on and adds protection. However it gave me a rash on the area and made it very red and itchy. Taking it off was painful although maybe it wouldve been better to take off in the shower.

Essential product
Used to protect and help healing on my hands , great as it’s cut to size and nearly invisible. I use it for paper cuts , fissure and dermatitis on my fingers which can get painful despite using hand cream. My hands heal faster with overnight application. With it being used on my hands it doesn’t last long so if I’m at work I have covered with another dressing or finger cot ( silicone )
