Great product!
Why did you choose this product over others?: This product came recommended but unfortunately did not fit into my toilet cistern which is a shame as it a great product and makes replacing parts so much easier! Quality: Great product Ease of installation: Once installed, maintenance is so much easier

Great piece of kit, well worth the money!
Used this Adjustable Syphon to replace an old one installed in the 80's. Our old one stopped flushing properly for years - the membrane/film inside it had completely disintegrated, but the toilet was remarkably still flushing if you pumped the handle 2-3 times in a row. The hardest part is removing the Cistern to install it, we had to use an angle grinder to remove the rusted butterfly bolts on the coupling kit - that took about an hour just to cut through two bolts due to the tight space the toilet was in. But installation of this was super easy then after. You will need plumbers grips (which can be pretty expensive at £9-£20), to remove the old syphon and/or to install this the first time. You'll also need a new cistern coupling kit, there's strong plastic ones available at B&Q that'll not rust. I removed everything out the cistern and replaced it, for an extra £10 you can replace the water inlet and float valve meaning the cistern/toilet is pretty much brand new. Our toilet was old, so I thought it best to just do a complete refresh of the parts. Something you should consider, it could save you a lot of hassle in the long run. Now, the reduced flush is a little tricky to get your head around first. Firstly, these syohons create a suction which pulls the water up and down the bowl, it's physics, all you need is some water moving up and it creates a vacuum sucking the rest up UNTIL air is let back in and 'breaks' the syphon. This usually happens when the water level reaches below the syphon's base. But the reduced flush allows air to pass through the part where the C-link connects, meaning you save a few liters of water if you hold the handle down. Now, this caused me a problem. The water inlet was pouring water onto the C-Link part and covering it with water as soon as flushing started - creating a small puddle in the little cup next to it. This stop air getting through and ultimately caused a reduced flush to be a full flush. It's simple really, no air was let in because the water was there and so the syphon/vacuum wasn't stopped early thus flushing the full 9L. The solution was to turn the water inlet away from the syphon, and now it works great! Just something to bare in mind when installing. As far as build quality this Syphon is amazing. No I mean it really is. It works great and frankly you wonder why they weren't designed like this to begin with. So much customization for different setups and at the end of the day, my toilet works better than it has in years. Internal overflow also works as intended. Great piece of kit, well worth the money!

Superb product and excellent innovation.
Brilliant in the fact that it feels well made and the idea of being able to separate the body of the flush whilst keeping the pipe connected should make it quite easy to maintain in the long term. Instruction could be written in an easier way to understand especially for a novice like me who has never looked into a cistern before in my life but youtube videos and online forums have helped me navigate my way through installation process. Also the body of the flush was a bit bigger than the old one and would not fit without lifting the body level higher up (which the flexibility and adjustability of this system has enabled me to do) and also trimming some of the plastic ridging on the side of the body to allow it to snuggly fit into the cistern. Took me a couple of hours at the end (apart from time spent looking how to do things up online) but worked perfectly at the end and very happy with the result.

Well made and serviceable
If you ever had to remove one of these to change the syphon membrane after the inevitable failure you will really appreciate a flush syphon that can be serviced without removing the whole thing, particularly if your cistern is hidden and a wall was then built around it. I would rather the membrane was made out of something a bit more durable then clingfilm so it didnt disintegrate and need servicing, but barring that being able to easily remove the top part so it can be serviced is greatly appreciated. The actually installation is very straight forward. There is a dual flush capability as well. If you want a half flush then hold the flush lever down until done. If you want a full flush then just let the flush lever go once the flush starts. Overall the quality is good and it is straightforward to service the unit, just make sure you retain the small instruction sheet so you know the brand and model so you can get the correct service kit. If you don't hold on to the brand and model info then the fact that it's serviceable won't make a difference because you won't be able to get the right service kit (next lesson is how to suck eggs....). Any semi-competent DIYer can install and service the unit. Recommended.
