A great little games console, well thought out and so versatile
This was a gift for my son, he previously had a standard DS which we have all been using for years but lately it had stopped recognising more and more game cards until it finally expired so a new one was very much in demand. We looked first at the 3DS but when we used a friends one we found it gave eye strain and headaches for even moderate use. My son therefore plumped for the 2DS and i have been delighted with what we received. The pictures online from various sources of the 2DS don't do it credit., this isn't clunky or a tablet like slab, it's remarkably well thought out. The shape is easy to hold and weight is well distributed. You can hold it for long periods with no discomfort. The button layout and weight will be familiar to anyone that's used a DS before and the usual volume and speaker quality gives you the now familiar Nintendo soundtrack nicely with a headphone jack for those who want to use it while travelling or in busy areas. The joystick is surprisingly responsive having been taken directly from the 3DS and both screens are really clear. If anything i think the sensitivity of the touch screen has had a massive upgrade since the earlier DS models, its can now pick out much more accurately small objects with the new stylus which is parked in the back of the case as usual. Battery life has proved to be really good too, much better than the old one although that could just be due to the old unit having been charged many times. The real bonus and selling point came in the form of not only getting a built in game for my £75 purchase price, but also the ability the console has to accept old DS games as well as 3DS titles played in the 2D mode (on the 3DS there is a slider to adjust eh 3D effect, it's like playing the game with the slider in the lowest position) which makes the available library of games very impressive. Since the DS games are not expensive it goes towards getting great value, especially for my little lad. Its such a good buy and so versatile i might even buy one for myself for my train commute!

Best console ever, bargain!
Probably the best console iv bought in my lifetime. The game library is insane you can play DS and 3DS games (without cinema style 3d). Theres a lack of shooters on 3DS but worth buying Goldeneye, Call of Duty black ops, Metroid Prime Hunters and GTA Chinatown wars on DS. Bought it for Resident evil resurrections 3ds which is amazing. Also has remakes of Zelda N64 games and others plus usual suspects; mario, mario kart, monster hunter, pokemon, street fighter etc. Also has a decent sega library - sonicx5, altered beast, shinobi (remake). Plus an ok playstation one with worms open warfare 2 (ds), resident evil resurrections (3ds), tekken (3ds). It comes with a memory card/stick (4gb) and charger, plus a decent mario game built in. The 3DS XL has one analog stick extra but you dont get a charger or memory card. Only difference with games is no cinema style 3d on the 3ds games. Screen resolution is the same on both devices so 2ds picture is better too and 3ds is distorted. I was on the fence between 2ds and 3ds xl. This is miles better, every game has several options for control - motion, touch screen or control pad so you really can just choose the best for you. Recommended like nothing else before!

Good value, ideal for youger kids
Got this for my daughter. It was far cheaper than the 3DS and didn't have the annoying, headache inducing screen. Also no hinge to possibly get broken with over zealous opening/closing. Battery life is decent. It plays all the 3DS games, and is pretty comfy to hold (I got thumb cramp on the on the 3DS!). Feels solid and durable. does take up more room than the folding 3DS, especially in a case. But there is generally more room in the case for other bits, cables, games etc. great for younger kids, older ones wont be too fussed, they will be on their Xbox or phone more likely!

Adult user
This is a great platform for portable gaming, and I've found it very useful when travelling and when on holidays here in the U.K. I still like to have some me time, where I can play through some games without going through the hassle to set things up. The games are all fun, and have lots of reminders of the 90s glory that was Nintendo. The one big negative here is, for adults, this device is way too small and really really hurts your hands. Even playing for 10 mins, I had hand cramps from having to bunch my thumbs up. Nintendo should think deeply and realise they have customers of all ages, so build quality and shape should reflect that. Sadly, I have just bought this and will probably give it away as it hurts too much. On the good side, I will give it to a charity shop so they can get some decent money for it and some little squirt can get a cheap DS.

A great way to pass the time while travelling.
I haven't owned a Nintendo since the original DS when it first came out, and when I saw this for £75, I decided to get it, since it comes with a game as well, and I travel a lot, so I could use this when travelling. It arrived very quickly, and was brand new, not damaged in the post or anything. The console itself is great. The design is very simple, but is very comfortable and it's very balanced, unlike the clamshell design of the 3DS. It comes with a 4GB memory card, with mario kart 7 pre-installed, which is nice, since you don't have to download it using a code, you just turn it on, set the console up, and then you're ready to play. The graphics are decent, not amazing, but given the size of the screens you can't fault it. It has a decent battery life, and you can put it in sleep mode which is very useful, as the device still does stuff like streetpass while in sleep mode. Overall, this is a great console and if you want something to pass the time while travelling or just want a cheap handheld console, this is the way to go.

llegó antes de tiempo y todo funciona bien, la única "pega" es que se debería informar que al ser un producto que viene de UK el enchufe es el del pais y no trae adaptador.

I loved it all except the fact that the cord it came with was from another country so it wouldn’t plug in my American outlet It was super cheap for a Nintendo system and it was in like new condition
