Why did you pick this product vs others?:One reviewer indicated that this worked with a smart switch.My search for a desk-type black modern lamp for my nightstand was driven by my need for it to be compatible with a smart plug, so that I could use Alexa to turn to the lamp on and off.The research on Amazon was not easy, since that feature is not always stated. I was surprised to find most of these types of desk lamps do not support a smart switch. I've even had to return some lamps due to the lack of this required feature. However, this lamp does support a smart plug and Alexa!! I am able to turn the lamp on and off with Alexa!!It does not support dimming/brightening the light with Alexa, nor changing the light color tone, but that it not important to me.The smart plug / Alexa support for turning the light on and off gives this a 5-star rating for me.I suggest to the seller to include this great/necessary feature in the title and also in the description - terrific.

It's my fault for not reading the listing more closely but wanted to give a heads up to others.It's a great little light and assembled very easy, but the thumbnail images make it look like you are buying two lights.Even though there is only one light I still feel it's a quality item for the price and will work perfectly behind my sewing machine.

The lamp arrived today. It was very easy to put together. I did not even need the directions. I did not want a short desk lamp so I am very happy with the higher height. The light is very bright, and I can adjust it up or down. It was well packaged. The directions are in a reusable plastic bag for storage. The print is a nice size unlike so many instruction manuals today that have a tiny print. It is easy to turn the light's head lightly closer for more light or away if it's too bright.There are a couple of things that I wish were different. 1. The light for the on off button is on all the time even when the lamp is off. 2. The cord on my old desk lamp was plenty long. It would have been helpful if this one had been another 6 to 12 inches long. I may have to get a short extension cord. 3. It is black and show's fingerprints.I haven't tried all the lighting features.The positives far outweigh the negatives, and that is the reason for the five star rating. I will test this one a couple more days and maybe order a second lamp for my sewing area.

I was surprised how bright this light is for working my puzzles! Just received it and just ordered another one in case I need another on down the road.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It was difficult to connect the two parts together. The pins inside were jam. I almost wanted to return the item if it was a help from my neighbor.

I bought this for my granddaughter's desk. It gives off enough light for her to draw by. Easy to set up and seems to be holding up very well over the last year. Good size doesn't take up much room on her small desk. It's heavy enough, or well weighted that it doesn't fall over.

Great lamp for reading or craft work. I recommended to my sister. It has different lighting settings and was easy to assembly.
