Amazing quality Microscope for the money
I've used this for a couple of weeks now mainly doing circuit board soldering repairs/testing/fault finding, it's my first decent microscope as I've mostly been using my now failing eyes (it's an age thing)It's been absolutely superb whether I use it on the monitor or the actual screen on the scope, the quality of the image really is fantastic.I think these are great for someone who has not used a trinocular microscope before for this kind of work, I got used to looking at the screen or monitor very easily without having to look at my hands and easily finding my way around the board when soldering.I would say the only 2 negatives are the small base which is not very heavy and really quite small, the biggest issue for me has been the fact you cannot adjust the position of the lens back and forth horizontally toward and away from you and that can be an issue for larger boards as the vertical stand gets in the way, there is a partial remedy in that you can tilt the lens backwards but this only helps so much, I'm already coming up with a solution to fix this issue myself with a McBushfix (as my wife would say).As for the base I will just make a larger and heavier one myself big enough to fit my soldering mat on.Overall very very impressed and very useful and of course a fraction of the cost of a fully equipped trinocular microscope and lets face it we haven't all got room for such a large microscope as those are.

a good value and able microscope.
a great microscope for micro soldering .it is very easy to use and the controls are well laid out. for the price its value for money .it magnifies a lot and feels well built . when using the lights can get in the way at times . and an otion for anti glare would be helpfull .the remote control is a handy feature as it enables you to take a picture without moving the object under it .and the hdmi output is a great feature of this scope.the only gripe is at the very bottom of the adjustment the scope does not focus at all . it goes out of focus around 3 inches from the bottom. so getting any closer is not possible.its still a very able microscope.

Great image but niggles
This microscope produces a fabulous image and the magnification is awesome. There are, however, a couple of gripes. Mine came with a black blob showing on the screen and had to be returned. My guess is internal dirt on the lens or sensor. There is no indication of which magnification is in use. The sound recording function does not work through firmware issues. For watch making, it is fabulous for oiling and inspection but the minimum magnification is too high for meaningful work.

Better than expected
I was initially put off by some of the reviews saying that the microscope was of poor build quality, however, on purchasing the AD407, I was pleasantly surprised. There are some minor details such as the power inputs not sitting flush, but for the price point, it is definitely worth the money and seems a fairly robust product.Customer services were also quick and helpful to a few queries I had, but I suggest only using the [email protected] email. I initially tried their sales email, Facebook and telephone, all seemed to be unmanaged.A couple of useful things to note:Fixing the microscope around the bottom of the lens, just below the red band, rather than at the top allows for a maximum working height of ~16 cm, this also reduces the magnification which initially is quite high with the standard set-up.You can download software called Microscope Measure which allows for measurements of components under the microscope, a handy feature for those parts difficult to measure with standard instruments. This software can be found on the Andonstar official website under 'Download Centre' and can be used to connect the microscope via USB ( or Wifi for the AD409). Crucially, the USB power cable supplied with the product does not allow you to connect to the software downloaded on a PC. Instead, you will need to source a micro USB-B charger (the older generation of android charging cables) which can be inserted into the power slot of the microscope and then connected to a PC/Laptop.

turned out better than expected
Was disappointed at first but after some use turned out to be great. Took it off the original stand and put it on a swinging arm kept it up off the work piece about 800mm it zoom in perfect. I now could not work without it. Recommended
