Ill be honest. Its my first time attempting to actually keep aquatic plants alive for longer than a couple of weeks and i fell down such a big rabbit hole i didn't know where to start.I started here because this substrate didn't require anything else to be done, you chuck it in and you're good to go. I took careful measure to fill the water using the cup method to prevent creating a giant dust cloud or turning my water brown, and it seemed to do the trick. i was left with a little dust and some brown colouration but i just did a small water change and it fixed the issue.This substrate is a little more on the expensive side and i found that as long as you don't mind a little extra work, the fluval aquatic soil is cheaper and basically the same thing, however you do need to rinse the fluval one and you need to do so with extreme care otherwise you will get brown soup. Overall this is not bad at all if you can afford it and want the convenience.

I am using for my shrimp tank as I can plant the plants directly into this substrate. Great quality and reasonable price.
