Nice Robot
The robot is a very nice robot. It is very easy to build. The instructions are pretty straight forward. You have to load all the software and program the raspberry pi. Most of the software is easy. There are problems that occur with loading all the software, but if you contact freenove and ask them questions and send pics and videos of any problems , they get back to in 24 hours with very simple solutions. I ran into several problems getting things to work proper but freenove got back to me and sent videos and instructions on how to fix each problem. Everything they told me to do worked perfectly and fixed any problem. I was very happy with their support. Shaynee was my tech, who answered all of my support needs. Very helpful and very knowledgeable about the product. The robot tank works exactly as advertised. It is a great product and freenove stands behind their product with great support

Overall good
I will say this is basically a project for STEM student, definitely not for kids. Before making the purchase, do download and read the tutorial. Some small parts are hard to assemble. One of M2.5 screw is missing. Tutorial is ok but not clear enough in assembling section (need more photos on how to connect cables) After a whole day finally make 90% of functions work. It's fun and good value for the money.

Impressive bot kit by a stellar company
Way to knock it out of the park (again). I purchased originally the Big Hexapod so I wanted to try a roller bot. Seriously, really easy to put together and instructions were 10/10. Will be buying again.

Cheap servos.
Cheap servo that didn't last long.

Check the acrylic parts to be sure they are cut correctly
I received this as a gift. I got to the part of the assembly where the lift arms were to be installed. This step is towards the end of the assembly process.. The problem, well two problems, the first was that the acrylic arm that attaches to the servo motor was not correct. The screw holes were not laser cut in the acrylic arm for the servo arm and the hole that would go over the servo motor gear was not enlarged. The second issue I had was I contacted support showed pictures of what I had, even circled the part I needed. They said they would send me the part and I thought great, I get to finish the tank and try it out.. Well after several weeks of waiting and no movement regarding postal tracking. I took it all apart and repackaged it and sent it back for a refund as the return window was closing. On the 30th of Jan i received a package in the mail. It was parts for the tank, however, they were the wrong ones.. Not even close to what I needed. I sent pictures and everything.. My advice and what I should have done is carefully look over the parts and be sure they are correct. I will mention that I did go thru ALL the screws and hardware to make sure it was all there. I just didn't think to look over the acrylic cut pieces. Other than that, it looked like a neat kit.. I kinda wish it would have worked out as I would probably have enjoyed it. If I somehow get another one. I will update my review

Great kit, but can't get the camera to work
It's mechanically well designed and everything fits as it should. The code is great to learn from. There are test routines that you can use to individually test the circuits, like, driving the motors/treads, operating the crane, distance module, infrared, etc. The documentation is fantastic. I got a lot out of this kit. The one thing I cannot get to work is the camera though, and without the camera, you can't use the robot because the server will error out and terminate when it tries to initialize it. There seems to be a magic combination of drivers and versions that I have not hit upon yet. I've even reinstalled the Raspi OS a few times trying to chase it down. The reason Linux isn't as popular as it should be is because it's comprised of a bunch of barely functional libraries that don't work well with other barely functional libraries, some that are still in beta, that throw indecipherable error messages that you have to scroll 3 pages up to read. It's the height of frustration (rant over).

Motor wire broke off
We bought this for a school and the two motors that had the electrical wires attached to them broke off. It seemed very flimsy and I tried to connect it back on but was unsuccessful. Is there a way to get a replacement?

It's a good kit in general, but it needs a new driver board that can actually power Raspberry Pi 5. In my case, I'm using 10A high drainage batteries that can power drones, but the Pi would crash from time to time just driving around, with a 75-100% battery capacity left. This means that the way it's powering the Pi is either having too much fluctuation, or other problems. Anyway I redneck engineered it by soldering 2 1000uf capacitors between the two sets of 5V VCC and GND pins. (Image 1 I attached) I'm not sure if this would damage the pi or robot in the long run, but it works currently. I monitored the temperature of gpio pins and it seems to be working. I have a few recommendations: 1. Change the power system to 3s allowing 3 18650 @ 11.1V. Reducing the current required. 2. Add more capacitors on the PCB to stabilize the output to Pi. 3. Expose I2C and try to reserve SPI for future extension if you're going to make a v3 board. Video 2 shows the full robot operating after all the mods. I added a power bank on top to power the Pi, a speaker and microphone for AI interaction, also upgraded the camera to IMX708AF. I would update my review rating after I hear from the manufacturer about the fixes they might make.

Produit de qualité, mais la documentation pourrait être améliorée. Il faut vraiment avoir des notions de programmation pour avoir un robot fonctionnel. L'installation de la caméra constitue le problème majeur, car sans elle, le robot ne peut pas être utilisé.
