Learn about the Magic of The Meta Model
This is not a beginner's book on NLP. What this book delivers is a good foundation upon NLP and also about problem solving, and even relays insights into business frameworks.I really like this book because it focused on what area instead of trying to cover a bunch of techniques or give you bland advice. What I got from this book is that we can backward engineer a process to achieve what we want. And although this might sound simple and obvious, the key challenge lies in the way us humans process information. This book uses language as a framework and the example of how we process the world around us. For instance we use: 1. Generalization. 2. Deletion 3. Distortion.I'm not doing this book justice with this quick review, but if you are someone that wants to find a way to overcome challenges, meet goals... or if you want to help others do so...I have never encountered another system as powerful as what Richard Bandler teaches. After reading many of his books, this one seems well organized and greatly explained... even with tough advanced concepts. It covers its bases pretty well.I'm sure Owen Fitzpatrick had a great deal of input to make this book such a gem. This book is a hidden treasure, it does not seem that it was heavily marketed and advertised (there isn't even a digital book as of this writing). If you manage to get your hands on this book... it will be time and money well spent!

Probably one of the best Richard Bandler books ever
This is an amazing little book. I breezed right through it in six hours. There is material that is culled from his other books, but there are insightful footnotes and commentaries within the text. It's very much similar to "The Structure of Magic" Vol. I & II, but is updated significantly with more examples. The book basically goes in-depth into "The Meta Model" which is a series of questions you can ask people. The focus of this book is to solve problems using the Meta Model which is of much use for coaches, therapists, and counselors, although there are many other occupations which can benefit from this book, such as artists, writers, marketers, business people, poets, actors and anybody in creative endeavors and any business that involves creative problem-solving.This book lays out the questions quite simply and shows you how to change them to fit the particular situation that one may find themself in. It's written very simply and if you follow along it is very easily understood.I've personally highlighted every page as almost every single page has juicy bits somewhere in it. I really love this book and I've been a fan of Bandler since the early 90's. If you can get your hands on some of his other works, I would suggest getting it, even if the sum seems a bit exorbitant, it's usually worth it.

Excellent Book On The Meta Model, But Not Entirely New
As an NLP guy, I've enjoyed this book a lot. Basically it's a detailed analysis of the Meta-Model. It includes old material and new material. Much of the older material seems to be from "The Structure of Magic Volume 1."The book differentiates between old material and new material, with new material bolded when it's added to older material. Much of the first half is old material, with some new material thrown in. The second half is mostly new material. The new material is very helpful, and much more practical and clear than the older material. That is the one thing about the book that makes it less useful, at least to me: the technical nature of a lot of the book. If you read a lot of Bandler's more recent books, the way he explains the Meta Model is much less technical and more practical. This book is very academic at times and gets into academic theories of language from people like Noam Chomsky. While interesting, a lot of it isn't directly applicable for personal or clinical use. However, the newer, less technical material is extremely helpful. I've gleaned a lot from the book that I'm adding to my life and practice. The Meta Model is a very powerful NLP tool and this book delves deeply into it.I only gave it 4 stars because it's highly technical at times, consists of a lot of older material I already own in book form, and because it's kind of pricey as a paperback (and I wish it were on Kindle).

Just when I wanted a refresher
Richard Bandler added some new text to the old text. He breathed the little extra life on to the earthquake of content that was already in this book. If you think you know everything already, and you aren’t the kind of person that would reread the old book, then this is not for you.
