Perfect for a beginner! Makes tuning my Ukulele so easy.
I bought the Fender FT-1 Pro to help me tune my ukulele, and it has been a game changer. As a complete beginner, I found tuning by ear really difficult (impossible pretty much!), but this little gadget makes it incredibly simple. Here is why I like it: - Easy to Read: The display is bright and changes color (green) when you hit the right note, so there is no guessing involved. - Simple to Use: You just clip it on the headstock, turn it on, and it picks up the vibrations instantly. - Works Great on Ukulele: Even though it lists guitars and other instruments, it handles the high notes of a ukulele perfectly. If you are just starting out and want a stress-free way to keep your instrument sounding good, I highly recommend picking this up! My 8 year old daughter also uses this to tune her ukulele - so if she can use it, I'm sure you can too!

Fender quality
When it came in a small box and I opened it I was instantly impressed with the quality of the product. Well packaged, even comes with a battery. It has the Fender name on it and I found that reassuring when buying it compared to the plethora of other tuners. Having used guitar tuners that are plugged into electric guitars having one that just clips on to the top does make tuning a lot easier. It picks up the vibrations of the guitar to tune. It is very accurate, easy to use and also switches off. The clip to attach feels sturdy and once it’s on it can be pivoted to however you need it. The display is easy to read.

At last a tuner that is reliable for bass
I've used plug-in/pedal tuners for many years but they're such a faff, that in the last couple of years I've relied on the app on my phone (Fender Tune, funnily enough) - but, while it's not bad for guitar, it is constantly failing with my basses. A phone app seems unable to handle the very low notes, so I always ended up tuning my E string by ear once the G,D, and A were sorted. I'd looked at these little gadgets a few times but never felt the time was right - till Prime Day, when this one was reduced by about a third. Time to dive in. And now I'm wishing I'd got one ages ago. You slot in the battery (CR 2032) and then there's just one button - power it on, press to cycle through the different instrument modes (guitar, bass, even ukelele) and bob's your uncle. Clip it to the headstock, it is super adjustable so you can get it to exactly the right angle to be clearly visible. Hit a string and the display is blue till you get in tune, when it turns a lovely bright green. It's big and clear enough to be easily read on stage under lights. Handily, if you don't switch it off after use (just hit the button again!), it will switch off automatically if it isn't used for a couple of minutes, so you're unlikely to get caught out by a dead battery. Most importantly, it works perfectly with the low strings, E is just as clear and quick as the rest - using the phone app I could stand there for five minutes waiting for it while it kept saying 'pluck any string' despite the fact I was plucking away at the E like maniac, the app just wasn't picking it up! Overall, a huge improvement on phone tuning, more convenient than a pedal, and really cheap - what's not to like?

Great little tuner.
Great little tuner, very strong spring and seems well made. It's tiny but the screen is very clear. It's a bit sensitive when checking intonation but I would recommend this item.

Brilliant Simple Good Quality
Brilliant idea. Tbs simpler version seems more popular for reason I bought it eg yes I have a Strobe tuner but this is super quick after a restring etc you can't mess it up with mode buttons etc you out it on, it is really good at identifying the strings and works nicely. Decent quality plastics and I trust Fender not to damage the finish on my guitars (will see how it goes).

Very good 👍🏼
A Musician's Must-Have: The Fender FT-1 Pro arrived in simple, compact packaging—a clear plastic blister pack that was easy to open. My first impression was overwhelmingly positive regarding the build quality. It feels substantial and durable, far from the flimsy plastic of some budget tuners. The black housing has a slightly matte finish that resists fingerprints, and the clip mechanism is robust, featuring a strong spring and padded jaws to protect the instrument's finish. Setting it up was immediate: simply clip it onto the headstock and press the single power button. The display immediately stood out—it's bright, large, and the colors (red/yellow for out of tune, green for in tune) are instantly legible, even in a dimly lit room. Nothing negative jumped out; it felt like a quality piece of gear right out of the box. ⚙️ 2. Product Performance The FT-1 Pro performs its core function—tuning—with excellent speed and accuracy. The vibration sensor is highly sensitive, picking up notes clearly, even with ambient noise or when tuning a low B on a drop-tuned guitar. The response time is nearly instantaneous; the needle/indicator moves fluidly and locks onto the correct pitch quickly, which drastically cuts down tuning time. In comparison to older, cheaper Snark tuners I've used, the FT-1 Pro is noticeably faster and more stable. The display doesn't "jump" or flicker between notes, offering a smooth, confident reading that makes fine-tuning effortless. It features different modes (Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Violin, and Chromatic), but I primarily stick to Chromatic or Guitar mode, both of which are reliable. It holds the pitch setting well, so you don't have to keep adjusting between standard and flat tunings. 🎨 3. Design & Features The design is sleek and understated, a classic Fender aesthetic without being overly branded. The best design choice is the hinged and fully rotatable display. This feature is essential, allowing you to clip the tuner on the front or back of the headstock and still achieve a perfect viewing angle. The display itself is the product's greatest feature: it's a vibrant, full-color LCD that offers high contrast. The meter-style indicator is intuitive, making it easy to see when you're slightly flat or sharp. The single-button operation is minimalist and effective for power, while a separate, small button handles mode changes. The only potential improvement I could suggest for a future generation would be an automatic power-off feature that is quicker than the current 5-minute timeout, just to save battery life after those quick, forgetful tuning sessions. 🔋 4. Durability & Maintenance After 18 months of daily use, the FT-1 Pro has held up exceptionally well. The plastic housing shows no signs of cracking or scuffing, and the clip’s spring action is as strong as the day I bought it. Critically, the swivel joint for the screen—often a weak point in clip-on tuners—is still tight and holds its position securely. I’ve accidentally knocked my guitar over a couple of times (the tuner still clipped on), and it survived without issue. Maintenance is minimal. It uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, which is easy to replace via a small, secure compartment. I generally get about 4-6 months of daily, sporadic use out of one battery, which is excellent given the brightness of the screen. 💬 5. Pros & Cons Pros: • Rapid & Accurate Response: Tunes quickly and stably, minimizing practice interruption. • Superior Display: Bright, full-color, highly legible LCD screen visible in any lighting condition. • Robust Build Quality: Durable construction, strong clip, and reliable swivel joint. • Excellent Battery Life: Impressive longevity for a bright-screen tuner. Cons: • Slightly High Price Point: It’s a bit pricier than entry-level competitors, though the quality justifies the cost. • Clip Size: The jaws are quite wide, which can occasionally feel bulky on very small, classical-style headstocks. • Slow Auto-Off: The 5-minute auto-shutoff timer feels a little long for quick-use applications. ⭐ 6. Final Verdict The Fender FT-1 Pro Clip-On Tuner is, hands down, one of the best investments I've made for my daily music practice. It perfectly balances a premium feel with outstanding performance. Its speed, accuracy, and clear display genuinely make tuning less of a chore and more of an instant routine. I would strongly recommend this tuner for any guitarist, bassist, or string player from beginner to gigging professional who values speed and durability. If you’re tired of slow, flickering, or fragile tuners, this Fender model is the upgrade you need. It’s built to last and performs flawlessly. Rating: 4.7 out of 5 stars.

On first view I really thought this product was cheap but that was me judging the packaging and the overall size of the thing. Once I powered it on and got it onto the headstock of my bass, this thing rocketed through the tuning process! Aesthetics be damned, this thing is all about function over form and it does it on a budget! I’m absolutely floored by this tuner especially when compared to the offerings which are double the price and don’t offer anywhere close to this tuners level of performance and ease/simplicity of use.
