I got these trays primarily for the purpose of using in an Old Fashioned glass. They worked so well, I'm on my second set, gifting to my other family members. Gone are the days of fighting conventional plastic trays that may crack while twisting or chasing cubes that popped-out unexpectedly and landed on the floor. The silicone makes for easy removal and always as expected; never any pop-goes-the-weasel surprises.And due to the mass and density of these larger cubes, they last much longer. In fact, I can casually get through my entire first cocktail and use the same cube for the second drink. The melt is nice and slow, steady as she goes. Nothing worse than drowning your cocktail with water from the quick melt provided by regular small cubes or the layer the melted water leaves on top if you get a little chatty between sips. I want the flavors of the drink, not the ice.So the trays themselves last longer, as I dare you to tear the silicone. Exact opposite or conventional trays, which are easy to crack/break if one gets a little vigorous on those pesky cubes that refuse to leave.Needn't save these for just cocktails, either. The large cubes work great for batches of ice tea as well. Then you don't have to worry about little ones choking on small, rounded pieces of ice. They're not going to put these hummers in their mouth.After one year of use, I have yet to find any substantial downside.

Excellent product, always popular among friends and improves the chill you need for all types of drinks. I use it normally for all ice purposes, small cubes are out. Perfect size.

I scoured for a replacement ice cube tray as my old set was showing its age and wasn't quite "buy it for life" quality. I settled on these trays by the decent reviews. I don't think these are quite "buy it for life" quality either, but they will do for now. Overall, 4 stars, details below.In case you're one of those "neat whiskey only" snobs, like I used to be, here's a quick primer about whiskey that I used to declare blasphemy. The wise among us know that wetting down your whiskey (via water drops or large ice) isn't just for toning it down a notch. It actually changes the taste at a molecular level and is absolutely worth exploring. Sometimes it's for the better, sometimes for the worse. Some whiskeys will peak with a bit of water, others peak when neat...it's up to the whiskey and the discerned palate drinking that whiskey to figure out. Large ice cubes minimize the melt, allowing a progressive venture into that metamorphism of taste.The good? I do think these trays will hold up for a very long time. They clean up reasonably well, although they do get a bit of white residual hard water spots that is often seen with silicon. The cube size is quite perfect, they fit most of my large bourbon glassware quite well. I get minimal melt into my glass, as desired and the results are pretty much exactly what I'm going for taste-wise. By the time I finish an average 1-1.5oz pour, my tasting is always butting right up against that maximum dilution rate. The sweet spot usually being in the first 3/4ths of the drink, like large ice will bring you. I can usually flip the cube and get another pour before each cube is dust.The bad? I do wish the tray's side walls were a bit more stiff/thick. One of my trays has started to show a slight bend among the sides, not easily corrected since it's silicon. For my personal bar, I really don't care about the occasional mis-shapen cube, but this started to occur after only a couple of uses.For the long run, I do think I'm in the market for a very high quality set of large ice trays, made from silicon, but with rather thick sidewalls. I haven't yet found that, but these will certainly act as adequate replacements for my old plastic set that was showing its wear. If you're looking for a versatile large ice cube tray, these aren't a bad choice. If you're looking for "buy it for life" quality, you'll likely want to look elsewhere.

Easy to use, easy to clean in the dishwasher. Perfect ice cubes for sipping whiskey.Give at least 24 hours to freeze, maybe a full 48 hours if you set your freezer temperature high or have it packed full of stuff.Once frozen, it may also make sense to put the trays in gallon Zip-lok bags depending on how quickly you use the ice cubes. They can absorb smells in the air just like any other ice cube. Not a problem if you use them in a week or two, but even the cleanest freezer will rub off on ice cubes after about a month of sitting around.Speaking of which, these do not sublimate noticeably. Generally, ice cubes shrink in the freezer due to the defrost cycle taking a little off the top when it warms up above freezing. Given the size of these, I find they last a long while.Best to get to sipping whiskey so that is not a problem. I hear good peated Scotch is best. Allegedly.

Good quality material, good mold design. It takes a bit of effort to remove the cubes if you don't know what you're doing, but it's relatively easy once you figure it out. I have abused mine quite a bit since I use it often, and it has endured without any sign of degradation or damage. 10/10 product.
