CASIO - Men's Watch EF-547D-1A1VEF

I'm not a poor man, but not a rich man either, however my taste in material possessions seems to be unaware of this. My quest for a new watch begun after seeing the Omega Speedmaster Professional watch which retails for either £2800 or £3400 depending on whether you want the true space version or the dressier one. It's a stunning looking watch that my wallet simply cannot support, considering it costs around £400 to service it every 4 years so I'll never ever own one. I've always liked a nice watch but I'm certainly not an enthusiast, I had to google what a chronograph was when I saw this watch but it caught my eye being that it screams speedmaster at me. It's similar dimensions too so I can somewhat imagine how it feels to wear an Omega, but with change from £100 and made by a company who also make my calculator, good old Casio. The extent of my watch knowledge, review wise is that it looks great, closest I could see to the Omega, love the stopwatch function. Looks a lot more expensive than it was and instead of £400 per service, I'll use the old watch guy in the town who'll put a new battery in for a fiver. Note that I didn't buy this to try and make people think I have a speedmaster but I love the style of it and this is very close for a good price.

This watch is a very good looking timepiece. You will definitely get comments about it. It sits comfortably on your wrist and its weight is very nice, without tiring you. It is on the big side, but nothing chunky like you see these days. It is just about right. The strap will probably need 3/4 links removed depending on your wrist's size obviously. It has been keeping the time quite accurately and looks like it will be doing so for a long time. Will definitely get another one from the Edifice collection.

This is a great watch, nice finish, and good weight to watch. The only real disappointment is the flourescent glow at night which is not as bright as I had hoped. Otherwise really good quality for the price!

A nice big dial that doesn't look too big on my 7.5inch wrist. It measures 43mm for the outer circle from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock and 47mm including the crown. Case thickness is 11mm and its 50mm lug to lug. The strap width is 22mm. I changed the bracelet for a black rubber one as i didnt find it comfortable while wearing it. The time second hand is in the bottom sub dial, the stop watch second hand is the big hand that sits at 12 o'clock on the big dial as can be seen in the picture. The lume is ok but the lume on the hands are a little too thin. A very nice watch that is very comfortable with the rubber strap that I have on it now.

Aside from Amazon.co.uk who has this EF-547D with the black dial and black tachymeter bezel in stock, there are only a few other new EF-547D watches of any color style which are being sold by any online sellers. After these are sold, they are gone forever since Casio has discontinued this model. The EF-547D's chronograph is a 1 second chronograph. Elapsed time is up to 12 hours, after which the chronograph's hour dial rolls over. Chronograph elapsed time is unlimited if you keep track of how many times the hour hand on the chronograph's hour dial rolls past 12. I bought this watch to replace my barely used EF-547D which I gave to a friend. I also have another EF-547D with the white dial and blue bezel. I love both of these watches since they function very well and since they can be worn as dress watches. I have four Edifice watches (not including this one which was just delivered), and all four watches keep accurate time to within plus or minus 3 seconds per month. To be this accurate per month, the quartz crystals in all four of my watches inherently have an accuracy of 32768 Hz plus or minus 0.03 Hz, or a 0.0001 percent tolerance for the quartz crystals. This is remarkably good tolerance. Note: My observed monthly accuracy for my watches is based on using fresh watch batteries. In summary, this black-on-black Casio Edifice EF-547D is my favorite Casio watch in terms of overall appearance. Its appearance easily is nice enough to be worn as an unassuming dress watch. I wish that Casio had not chosen to discontinue this particular watch model.

This watch was purchased for my son as a gift. His response was very positive and he cherishes the watch in a way I would never have expected. The design is very classy and once adjusted does not look too blingy on my son's wrist. The dials are a little confusing at first, but once explained can be easily interpreted. This watch has encouraged my son to collect watches so i am very happy i decided to make this purchase as it has got him really excited about watches, which are obviously very important in today's society.

Very nice looking watch. Great value for money. A bit in the heavy side but you get used to it. Really happy with this purchase! Strongly recommend.

Although the design has been mostly copied from high-end swiss watches, this is a great looking value watch. I have owned it for 4 years and its working perfectly. Watch face is normal glass so does get scratched up though. Note it is a quartz (battery) watch. There are other mechanical watches at the similar price point by Seiko and etc for those looking for a more "quality" watch.

Ich suche immer mal wieder den Olymp der Uhrenwelt nach ins Budget passenden Speedmastern, Navytimern oder Carreras ab, finde aber (natürlich) nie entsprechend billige Angebote. Und die "Copy-Watchs" aus asiatischen Gestaden will ich nicht (abblätternder Chrom, zerkratzte Plastikgläser, wackelnde Kronen, mieser Gesamteindruck und last-but-not-Least rechtliche Probleme...). Alternativen zum "Echten" gibt es eben nicht...... Im Zuge so einer Suche stieß ich auf den Casio-Brocken: Nie vorher davon gehört, spontan begeistert, geklickt, gekauft, fertig. Nicht mal 24h später kam die Uhr bei mir an, allein das war super! Amazon macht hier einen guten Job!! Beim Auspacken nur positive Empfindungen: Sieht gut aus (optisch nahe an der Speedmaster -ja, das ist nicht alles und eigentlich nicht wichtig-, liegt schwer in der Hand -hoffentlich nicht zu schwer-, sehr hochwertige Verarbeitung -meilenweit weg vom Copy-Watch-Eindruck-,) einfach und problemlos bedienbar, Armband viel zu groß (es soll ja auch Leute mit Fleischer-Unterarmen geben....). Das Kürzen des Armbandes ist in der (sehr knappen) Bedienungsanleitung nicht erkärt, aber problemlos im Internet zu finden. Man sollte sich aber Spezialwerkzeug besorgen (gibt's für ein paar Euro bei e-Bay), damit das schöne Armband nicht zerkratzt oder verbogen wird. Die Edifice (was heißt das ? Ist eigentlich ein Konsortium f. Industrie-Standards - Komischer Name.... Casio sollte sich da mal etwas anderes ausdenken: Wie wäre mit "Trackmaster"?.) ist auffällig. Gerade Autofans (die ja häufig auch Uhrenfans sind) sprechen mich auf die Uhr an und sind angenehm überrascht, wenn sie den Brocken in die Hand nehmen. Eine große Uhr, die sicher nicht für jeden Zweck ideal ist. Mit den richtigen Klamotten kombiniert (z.B. dicker Wollpulover und Fliegerlederjacke...) ein Hingucker. Ich kann noch nicht sagen, wie dauerhaft die Uhr ist und wie sie sich im täglichen Leben schlägt. Ich hoffe aber sehr, daß wir Freunde werden.... Inzwischen habe ich die Uhr 5 1/2 Jahre und bin immer noch begeistert. Einmal mußte ich eine neue Batterie einbauen (hab' ich selbst hingekriegt!), zweimal blieb die Uhr irgendwann stehen..... Neu gestellt, läuft wieder problemlos. Na ja, stört mich nicht wirklich. Ich schreibe hier noch mal, weil ich gerade wieder nach dieser Uhr suche. Ich würde die noch einmal nehmen (aber erst, wenn meine nicht mehr will!).

Premesso che ho aspettato un mesetto prima di recensirlo a beneficio di chi legge, posso dire: PRO: + il prodotto considerato nel suo complesso al prezzo offerto è ottimo. + qualità dei materiali e del movimento ottime. + personalmente ritengo il design molto bello, anche la cassa è dimensionata bene e l'orologio si difende bene per ogni tipo di uso(quotidiano e non). + Cronografo di buona precisione. CONTRO: - Le istruzioni sono cumulative di vari modelli pertanto non specifiche di questo orologio. - Per quanto riguarda la transizione del datario, nonostante mi sia attenuto agli orari di regolazione consigliati dal libretto, a volte scatta (in anticipo o in ritardo) alle 12 A.M. anzichè P.M. e spesso mi tocca riaggiustarlo. - La fluorescenza delle lancette e delle tacchette orarie ne permette la lettura del quadrante anche al buio SOLO se vi è stata esposizione solare più o meno diretta durante la stessa giornata, in caso contrario è praticamente nulla. Nulla da eccepire al servizio Amazon. Prescindendo dai particolari, a questo prezzo(75€ durante promozione Amazon) è più che competitivo. Molto consigliato!

- En précisant que sur mon échelle d'appréciation, "magique" est juste au dessus de "magnifique". Et mis à part le soleil, rien n'est au dessus de "magique" ;-) - De toute façon, parmi les montres "chronomètre analogique à plusieurs cadrans" du marché, je trouve que les EDIFICE (de chez Casio) sont vraiment les plus jolies et avec des finitions détaillées très bien travaillées. Mais vous me direz probablement que : ça, c'est une histoire de goût. - Voilà pour l'aspect esthétique, design et finition. Maintenant, niveau réglages et fonctionnalités, tout a l'air de très bien fonctionner. En même temps, je viens tout juste de la recevoir. Je précise que le cadran/boîtier de cette montre est assez robuste et en "impose" pas mal (bien que ça soit très loin d'être le modèle de Casio EDIFICE le plus volumineux et le plus lourd). Mais de toute façon, elle vous ira forcément, à moins que vous ayez un poignet d'enfant de 13 ans. Quant au diamètre du bracelet, sachez qu'il vous sera possible (par un horloger/bijoutier ou par vous même si vous avez les outils adéquats) de faire retirer autant de maillons que nécessaire afin que la montre épouse parfaitement votre poignet. - Ah oui... par rapport au prix, le rapport qualité/prix de cette montre est superbe. À un tel point que j'aurais trouvé son prix parfaitement "légitime" même si elle coûtait 50% (voir même 100%) plus cher que son prix actuel. - Autres précisions : Toutes les aiguilles de cette montre ont une partie phosphorescente permettant de lire dans le noir (pour peu que vous ayez exposé la montre à la lumière du jour pendant un certain temps). Je précise cela parce que bien que très courant notamment parmi les montres Casio, cette particularité est rarement indiquée dans la description (générale et/ou technique) des montres sur Amazon. Quant à la "surface du verre du cadran", certaines montres ont cette surface bombée, tandis que d'autres ont une surface plate. Sur ce modèle-ci, la surface du verre du cadran est plate. Par ailleurs, la montre "réelle" correspond bien à sa "représentation photo" sur ce site web. Voila. Bref, une montre somptueuse, la classe absolue ! très élégante et moderne à la fois. Et pour couronner le tout, un prix ridicule... Tant que je la possède et qu'elle fonctionne, j'ai personnellement l'intention de la porter aussi longtemps qu'il me sera possible de la porter, sans en changer par une autre. El reloj .Es un buen reloj. Mejor de lo que esperaba. La caja tamaño bueno, la correa buena. El aspecto del reloj parece de mejor calidad. Toda la gente me lo ha dicho.Sumergible comprobado baños, piscina. El transporte es lo que no me gusto. No llegó en su momento. Todo un día esperando en mi casa para nada yo y mi mujer y acaban diciendo que no estaba en casa. Me lo llevaron al día siguiente. Pero no llegó en mi aniversario El reloj muy, muy bien

Ich variiere gerne meine Uhren und lege mir auch gelegentlich einmal eine neue Uhr zu. Nachdem ich nun schon zwei von Casio habe, werde ich mir bestimmt keine hochpreisige Uhr für mehrere hundert Euro kaufen. Die Casio sieht optisch toll aus, hat eine angenehm schweres Gewicht und lässt sich gut tragen. Das Band konnte ich selbst kürzen. Jederzeit wieder so eine hübsche Casio! Sieht am Männerarm sehr gut aus und ist nicht zu groß! Ich trage die Uhr fast täglich. Das Armband ist sehr robust und kann einiges vertragen.
