Serious protection thats also inexpensive
Like others here I am also a fairly big guy and I wanted some good pads to wear on my new Evolve GTR while im getting the hang of esk8ing. These pads are big, bulky and will protect your knees from friggin' anything. The fit is nice and easily adjustable and the velcro is top quality. I also got the elbow pads to go along. Sure you can get more lowkey pads that arent as large but you cant beat the value and protection you get with these.Been wearing pro-tec helmets and pads since my young skating days and they are absolutley a brand to rely on when it comes to safety equipment for any type of skater. No wonder even some search&rescue and patrol units wear pro-tec gear while on the job.

Old extreme sports guy gives two thumbs up
I can wear these for hours of skating, they feel part of me now. I've done extreme sports since the late 80s, I like the support I feel from these bindings on my aging knees. They are strong in construction and all seams are still tight. I weigh 170lbs, crash hard, and feel safe in these. ProTec are as legit on pads as TSG, who make my helmets.

Quality pads
These a decent quality pads but slightly small. I bought the XL pads but the straps only just come around by trunk like legs. It is the elastic inner straps that are on the small side the nylon straps are fine. I would go for a size up to "normal" if you are a bigger person.

Gives good knee protection
Bought these for my son who has recently got in to stunt scooters. He’s had them a couple of months now and has no complaints. Provides good knee protection and he said they are comfortable to wear. Good price and happy with product. They were much cheaper than the ones for sale in the scooter shop!

They really do work well
I bought these for my 11yr old son who like many is fanatical about his "Scooter" so as he insists on spending every waking moment on it I felt he needed the correct protection and after wearing holes in the pair we got from a charity shop, I decided it was time for an upgrade! And these are fantastic!!I can honestly say I can stand and watch him land and slide on his knees time & time again knowing he isn't doing himself any harm due to the good padding and robust design of these pads 👍🏼

Pro Tec Knee pads
I've been looking for some decent knee pads for ages and these do the job. They look absolutely massive on, but they do fit and are pretty solid. I'm sure they'll last some time. All in all a great buy!

Great protection
Perfect for the job. The first dsy of wearing my son fell at the skate park and the knee protectors worked perfectly.., they got scrapped but imagine that woukd of been his knees.

OK pads for casual use. Not suitable for derby players.
EDIT: I am amending my review to 3 stars from 4. After spending 4 months playing roller derby and putting some serious wear into these pads, they quickly began to fray and come apart at the seams. The padding, while broadly sufficient began to thin out and I didn't feel confident in them any longer. For the record, I'm around 112lbs. Blokes and people not as short as me will definitely want to pick up some pads with better cushioning. If you're looking to do some serious skating, I'd recommend putting in a little extra cash and getting some proper quality pads. If you're just using these casually or occasionally, then they're decent enough for the price.Previous review:Really sturdy pads - seem a good investment so far. I had a few goes falling onto my knees and was pleased to find it was almost entirely painless - I trust these pads to protect me if I take a fall while inline skating.Four stars instead of five for two reasons:1) Because the plates are looking worn already, after only a few knocks on tarmac (maybe this is to be expected).2) The velcro straps are a bit mischievous and have caused a few ladders in the elastic. I'm hoping this damage is just aesthetic, but it's poor design either way.
