Doesn't get any better than this
You pay for what you get. This streaming media player is an extremely high quality product and I love it, I've had a few cheapo Chinese's boxes but got fed up with poor quality and reliability.Spec summaryLatest amlogic S905 processor2GB ram and 16GB fast emmc flashHDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 supporting 10 bit 4K ultraTV at 60 frames/sec7.1 channel HD audioBluetooth 4.12x2 Mimi (basically uses an internal and external antenna to provide a fantastic Wi-Fi reception, I'm getting 30mbs download in my bedroom, a long way from the router)It also has faultless OTA (over the air) updates meaning the box is always up to date. Updating other boxes us a messy, painful, technical nightmare, I know, I've there many times. The software is excellent, everything works extremely well and it never lags, it's very snappy. There is a choice of launchers when you login and other custom software making the whole media experience so much better.I purchased the standard wireless keyboard and it works great, on refection, wish I'd got the minix one as mine is too noisy/clicky in bed at night.Overall, this box is awesome, you do have to pay a little more, but over 2 year period, it's nothing for peace of mind, proper support and a flagship product

Big Disappointment!
Read all the rave reviews and watched the Youtube versions and decided to make a purchase. What a disappointment! The remote is next to useless - only works spasmodically. I couldn't get through the Playstore login in to add my apps. Must have "typed in my username and password 5 times and then it froze on me. No worries, I thought, I'll use the mini keyboard I had with my last android box - but it didn't recognise it when I connected the usb link. No worries, I thought, I'll use the bluetooth keyboard I use with my tablet - it didn't see any bluetooth devices even though the keyboard, my mobile and tablet were all within 6 feet of the box! Finally I tried to connect by wifi instead of using ethernet but it didn't see the wifi network even though the router was inches away. Totally frustrated I repacked and posted it back to Amazon and the good news is they issued a refund voucher as soon as it was in transit so I could buy another box! Lesson learnt is don't just read reviews - try googling " problems with the XXXX android iptv box" to get the other side of the story - my problems are not unique!

Minix =speedy reliable android media box
This is my second minix media box having previously owned the x-h8 which I gave to parents as wanted a upgrade and I am pleased to say as with previous box it is excellent ,nice user interface ,lightning quick ,ota upgrades and great support if needed ,must admit I prefer the gyroscope remote that was with previous box but there's still no probs with 1 supplied just a personal preference and there is an option of an a2 lite remote which I may get at later date, the on off blue light is much better on the u1 and more visible ,not tried over wifi as I use Ethernet on normal broadband and works like a dream ,no buffering, some cheaper boxes out there but if you want quality build that lasts, easy to navigate ,speedy interface then look no further you won't be disappointed 5*****

I do like the quality and excellent support from the manufacturer with firmware updates and the user forum, works flawlessly, I just wasn't aware Netflix, Amazon video and Nowtv don't support android tv boxes.

Good product, only for a small screen.
A neat little device. I had no issues with it bar it's inability to play back multi-channel sound via the Plex app. Wether or not this is down to the device or the application is irrelevant, it doesn't work on Minix. You can 'work around' the issue by forcing Plex to playback via Kodi but that is very messy. My second gripe is the interface: it's not really tuned for the larger screen. This is due to the version of Android it uses which is at best more appropriate for tablets.

Don't buy don't buy
Do not buy, don't waste your money. This product keeps freezing and I have to keep rebooting it.I have 1 years warranty on it and the company won't even reply to my emails.Never trust that again.

You get pretty full access to Google Play
I bought this to replace an aged WD TV (not "Live"), which was challenged by the lack of network access, and as a result no I-Player or All 4. It does need a dedicated keyboard/mouse as it is more of a media PC rather than a media streamer, although it does function very well as both. Bluetooth shares an antenna with the wifi, so streaming from a NAS with a local BT speaker is a non-event. The various file system interfaces are clunky without a keyboard, and navigating a video/music collection is challenging. Further drawback is the inability to access it from a pc network without rooting it, which challenges firmware updates, but you can access a pc network from the box, which is a help for manipulating files. You get pretty full access to Google Play, with all it's apps, browsers included, which is a very welcome bonus.

Minix NEO U1 review from a verified purchaser.
I bought the MInix NEO U1 after being disappointed by both the Vensmile K3 and the Tronsmart Ara X5 plus, I had previously ignored the excellent reviews of all Minix devices and bought something else. If you are reading this now please be warned, you might save a few quid buying something cheaper but you may be disappointed later so just buy a Minix now and prepare to be overjoyed as I am. Enough said.I do wish that Amazon would not bundle reviews of different products from the same supplier together and suggest that a set top box has 57 great reviews when the set top box only has one disappointing review and a USB lead sold by the same supplier has 56 rave reviews. Even worse is seeing rave reviews from people who have been sent a free one to rave about If it's not a verified purchase please don't publish it Amazon. Rant over.
