Do yourself a favour and buy this now
Amazing bit of kit! Makes water changes in big tanks so easy I can allow my 12 year old to do it unattended.Bit of a fiddle to set up first time, you will need a long enough hose and a shower connetion piece; but now it works beautifully every time. Saved so many hours of carrying heavy buckets back and forth the bathroom. Water changes have never been so easy. 1000% recommend

Cheap, slow siphoning but does the job 😀
Purchases this to drain fishtanks as someone on YouTube used one. For the price I wasn't expecting alot. You will be required to purchase the additional connectors which I got from wilkos for cheap and filling the tank very good. Siphoning however does the job but is very slow. I will still use this as it can slowly siphon while cleaning decor and tank.

Works with some ad
I was skeptical about this, however it did work, but with some adjustments. I had to use two hozelock attachments (the type needed when connecting a hose to a kitchen tap) as I didn't have a screw thread on my tap. I also had to hunt for some connectors at my local pond supplier to connect the other opening to a hose. I then used 20ft of hose between my tank and the sink. Once fitted, I found it quite easy to empty two thirds of my tank whilst I was hoovering the stones. I then turned the switch and it refilled the tank. This is a good bit of kit if you have a large tank and don't want to walk to and fro with buckets. It does leak slightly into the sink but that was probably my hodge podge of connectors. It seems to use a running tap to power it so it does waste water somewhat. If it had a decent mix of connectors I would have given it 5 stars as it's made cleaning easier! P.s. You'll also need a clip to secure the end of hose in the tank.

Cheaper alternative to Python and so much easier than buckets
Ok, so you need the right attachments for your tap and a hose - you need something like this for the tap https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0034G5NRC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .You stick the hose in the tank, and run the tap with the bottom valve open until the venturi system starts pulling the water from the tank. You can then turn off your tap. The flow of water will be dictated by gravity and the length of the hose you are using, so when I was draining the downstairs tanks, I started them draining in the sink, but then put the end of the hose out through the back door. This drop from sink height to the ground helped increase the rate of water being siphoned out. I also found this was enough suction to add a gravel siphon to the end of the hose to siphon the sand in these tanks. For the upstairs tank, as this was coming from upstairs to the kitchen sink, this got a good flow with no issue. With regards refilling the tanks - it's considerably easier than buckets unless you have a mixer tap like mine which seems to fluctuate wildly in temperature! I did have to keep checking the temp and adjusting, but still much better than 25l buckets which was killing my arms and back! You just add dechlorinator as the water is running into the tank. I would highly recommend this if, like me, you have 1 or more 150-200l tanks to deal with.

great idea that would work if build quality was better
The concept works BUT... when I gently attached it to the outside tap water shot out the top so I tightened it a little more and then it went loose again. This means it is either cross threaded or the thread just isn't deep enough to tighten adequately. I suspect the latter because the thread does not look damaged. The result is I can use it for draining (because the tap is off for most of the process so low water pressure) but not for filling as the pressure will cause water to shoot out the top. Very disappointed as I had to spend money on the accessories (hose, tap connector, hozelock connector) and its not much use. I may try and get a second rubber washer to see if that will allow me to tighten it onto the outside tap.Update. I tried adding another washer but it did not help. The thread on the top just doesn't fit my outside tap (which all hozelok products fit so its pretty standard). So as soon as I turn it on water sprays out the top all over me. Therefore its useless so I have downgraded to a one. Such a shame because the concept is great and the valve part works.

Safe money, I will tell you why….
If you have to remove and add water in a tank, you will spend lots of money on items such as a python tool. These are very expensive. However, this attachment when adding a hose pipe or clear pipe to it, does the same at a fraction of the price. Refer to YouTube and you will see. This is a money saver. Or you could manually change the tank water and make a mess and take up loads of time that you may not have.

Great bit of kit
The best aquarium water changer you can get. Once you start the syphon off you can turn off the water at your sink tap so you do not waste water. The syphon is a bit slow but I can chill out and have a cup of tea instead of using buckets. Don't for get to ad your tap safe water condition to the aquarium before you refill. You will need to order the brass tap adaptor to enable it to fit your kitchen tap. I used garden hose for the pipe. Water changes have never been lazyier. 5 star product. Bill Battison
