Excellent recoil pad
This pad adds about 1" to the length of pull. You can reuse the original wood screws on the butt plate. Installation takes about 1 minute, and the fit is pretty good - not "custom" quality, but not bad - it depends on who made the stock. My recommendation would be to leave the metal butt plate on, and put the pad on top of it. Between the added length and the recoil absorption, my AKs much more comfortable to shoot, even with my old shoulder injury. The pad has a hole to allow access to the butt stock cleaning kit trap, which is nice. The hole is almost an exact match to the trap cover, which means big fingered folks will have to use their little fingers to depress the trap. Also, the cleaning kit is a very snug fit coming out - going in is no problem. This means the kit may hang up coming out, but a few raps on the bottom of the stock will get it out far enough to grab. The best part is, you won't be losing it accidentally!I have three of these, on three different makes of AK. By themselves they make all of the rifles more comfortable, and when combined with a recoil buffer they have little more felt recoil than an AR. For most people not used to the deliberately short stocks of the AK series, the extra length of pull is a benefit as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Must have accessory for AK wood stock
Really helps with the felt recoil as well as the ergonomics of the rifle for me. The problem I always have is that AK buttstocks are extremely short, which causes me to have a hard time getting a good cheek weld. This adds another inch of length to the end of the stock which makes a surprising amount of difference. I also added a raised sight (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001COQOZI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which made my rifle extremely comfortable and easy to shoot.Install was super easy, just a couple of screws. The center of the buttpad is open to still allow access to the cleaning kit stored in the buttstock.

Didn't work on: Riley Defense RAK47-Classic, Arsenal SLR 105R 74, IO Inter Ordnance
It's a piece of nor hard neither soft rubber like car's tire which measures: [Length: 3 7/8" - 97 mm] [Width: 1" - 25 mm] Distance from the top edge to center of the first/top hole [1/2" - 13 mm] From the bottom edge to the center of the lower hole [5/8" - 16 mm] Distance between two holes [2 3/4" - 7 Cm/70 mm]. Shipping was fast and price is right unfortunately, didn't work on three different types of AK 47 as well as 74. I wish it came with no holes so one could make them to spec. In the first three photos showing butt pad, I have purposely flipped the piece to show screws won't match even if you try to install it say; upside down.

Good idea, poor execution.
I really wanted to like this butt pad. It was low profile and looks great. Sadly, it fails in the most important of areas: the connection area where washers connect to the rubber. This is something other reviewers noted, but I had hoped was a fluke. I wasn't so lucky. On of the washers ripped out of the rubber during the first use. The other washer held tight and using some nuts and additional washers, I was able to jury rig the butt pad. However, due to it's fragility, I removed it.

Great price looks good
Got mine yesterday. Have an m70 mpap, from Serbia. Screws head too small, so I went to Robs hardware in Houston and picked up two #6 screws an inch long, bigger heads. Size of screws on rifle butt were half inch. Nothing in between so settled for inch screws. Had to stretch pad to get screws to fit, not a problem. Fit was off a bit on the edge so I Carved excess with box cutter, then sanded with fine grit sanpaper. Looks great, feels great. I'm happy with this product that probably cost 25 cents to make. Glad I didn't spend 25 bucks on others.

I like it.. Fits arsenal sam7r pretty good if you stretch it into place.
Exactly what I was looking for. Went on me arsenal with a polymer stock. The pad was well shaped and holes ALMOST lined up. I was able to screw one end on with the original plate screw, and stretch the other end (with screw in the new pad) to line up the holes. What I really like is that at the screw holes, there are metal bushings inside the rubber, to keep the screw from going straight through the rubber.Trap door still works and the cleaning kit still ejects properly. Holding my rifle to my shoulder feels much better. Not only does it feel better than the bare steel plate, the added length of pull is perfect (I am 6' tall).Overall very satisfied. shipping wasn't the fastest but it did make it here.

not to good with the butt plates with the groves in them
I works, not to good with the butt plates with the groves in them. Been looking for a original Romanian stock with the field kit in the stock but no luck. I had to use small washers & different screws to install in on the grooved butt stock plate, even had to drill new wholes in stock plate. & stock.

Great for extending short buttstock
I love shooting my AKs but I don't like the length of pull. This extender screws on right over the stock buttplate with the existing screws. It also has a hole so that buttstock cleaning kits can be accessed, and it doesn't change the appearance of the rifle too dramatically. It increases the length of pull perfectly for me (6' tall male with average length arms). It doesn't do much for cushioning, but the AK doesn't have much recoil. If that's an issue for you, consider a padded slip-on. Basically, it's inexpensive and will increase shooting comfort greatly, and it won't fall off like some other slip-over pads.
