Excelente arenero!

Does what I need it to
So far, this has been exactly what I needed. I followed another reviewers advice and sprayed it down with Pam before putting in any litter in it, applied electrical tape over the gap between the bin and the box, and got clumping cat litter. I think it'll take me a little while try find the cat litter that gives me the best result though. The current little breaks up a bit when the scoop activates, so im going to try harder clumping litter. Still though very pleased with what it does. I will say, the bin lid does need to be attached with tape, becausevthat thing doesn't stay on by itself. I guess if i dont update this review you can assume it didn't crap out on me like some of these other reviewers.

I threw this product away 9 months after my purchase.
I bought this item after a friend demonstrated it with their cat. It seemed to work very well, so I bought one for myself. I did not consider that they had one abnormally small cat and I had two medium large cats. I started to regret my purchase immediately when I realized that my cats could not fit in the box, and had to place their paws on the side to aim for the litter. This led to a occasional feces around the rim of the litter box, which proved difficult to clean well. Another reason I was unhappy was the fact that you cannot put two inches of litter in the box. This meant that the urine would spread all along the bottom of the box as opposed to forming discrete clumps. This was a big problem because the rake mechanism doesn’t actually touch the bottom, so there was a perpetual thin layer of urine soaked litter at the bottom. Another problem was the weak and very loud motor. Matching the max fill line would cause the motor to struggle even with no clumps to scoop. When there were clumps, it could take multiple attempts to get it in the receptical (after 3 attempts it gives up). This was especially a problem at night, because even when the motor wasn’t struggling it was obscenely loud. I often turned it off at night as a result, which meant manually scooping the litter in the morning before turning it on. When it did manage to get the clumps into the receptical, it would push the litter in front of the clumps too, wasting litter and occasionally spilling litter over the side of the receptical area. This lack of thorough sifting meant the receptical would fill up in 2-3 days. If procrastinated even slightly, the receptical will overflow and becomes a nightmare to remove. The lid of the receptical doesnt secure well and would occasionally fall off which meant the clumps would go on top and quickly become a nightmare to clean. After a few months, I turned the unit off and manually scooped the litter into the receptical. Today I received a separate litter receptical and through this product away. All things considered, this device was twice as much work to keep up with than a regular litter box. It does not make your life easier. If you want an automatic box, get the expensive one. Don’t waste your money and your time.

Excellent choice
Eventhough it sometimes gets stuck, it just makes it easier and cleaner when having multi cats, my previous litter boxes were not automatic, so my two cates filled it up very quick everyday I was out to work and sometimes did not clean it, but now it's so easy to clean and very very clean place

Works well, however loud.
This product makes it much easier to have a cat. It has both the option to plug in or for battery use. It goes off about 20 minutes after the cat uses the litter box (it has a sensor). I started using this when my cat was a kitten. I have had it for about 5 months now. It does make it easy for clean up. It has a litter receptacle that is easy to replace. It does not work very well with heavy kitty litter, as it sounds like it gets bogged down. I have started using the crystal kitty litter with it, and this works really well. It also decreases the amount of changes for the receptacle. With normal kitty litter you have to change it out about once a week, with the crystal kind it doesn't have to be changed for about 3 weeks. The biggest con of the litter box is the noise it makes. It is much louder than I expected. It is audible from 3 rooms away. All in all it is a good litter box and is much better than having to clean a regular litter box, however it took several kinds of kitty litter to find one that works best. The noise is hard to get used to.
