Works great! The probe is long enough for my larger potted plants and its design is really cute!

This has totally changed how I garden indoors. Guessing whether to water or not was one of the worst problems I had, and I've lost many plants due to either over- or underwatering. Not any more! This is so easy to use. One thing I noticed: the instructions on the box say to leave the meter in the soil for 10 minutes -- that's wrong!! It only takes about 10 seconds for it to read the results.

And it didn't break. Works great, no batteries, best reading is after a minute. Be careful getting through the roots, its wiggle.

Be aware that you cannot leave this in the dirt. I thought it would be so cool to have this in the pot or ground next tomy plants cause it is pretty. BUT they quit working if you leave them in the dirt. I was disappointed to learn this but that requirement is among all of the moisture detectors. However, I am giving 5 stars because i can read the screen without reading glasses whereas my other brands have a tiny read out. Now that I know i can't just leave it in the plant, I don't needs multiples. In spite of these observations, it is good quality and it is my favorite of all the brands i have bought.

Cute moisture meters, but I was repulsed when I pulled them out of the package to find the boxes were covered in a thick, gross oily substance that was not on the outside of the shipping envelope. I couldn’t wash my hands fast enough! Luckily the meters came in separate little plastic pouches, so nothing was damaged. But still…
