Really good simple cookbook
I was given this as a Christmas present and have already tried several recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and I like that there is a chapter on cooking for one. The book is well produced and the photographs are good.

Good book to browse through
The Cullen skank was well worth the effort, simple yet delicious. I look forward to trying out some other dishes

Tastes good
Since buying this recipe book a year ago we have used it nearly every week - sometimes several times a week. Nearly all of the recipes have been very well written, and produce very tasty meals.

Simple, ingenious and delicious results
An amazingly useful cook book from a great chef, full of delicious, eclectic recipes which are perfectly "manageable" providing you have a fairly decent store cupboard. I'm often put off recipes in cookbooks due to the bother of sourcing ingredients but most of what you need here is easily found in any local supermarket and won't cost the earth. Indeed, part of the book's great appeal is the fact that many of these recipes are composed of only about half a dozen ingredients. The desserts section is particularly ingenious, especially for someone like me who doesn't have much experience making puddings! I wouldn't want to be without this superb collection.

My new go to Cook Book
I love this cook book. You can almost hear Rick talking as you read through the recipe. Each one is simple to understand. From quick suppers to lavish dinners I have cooked at least 30 different recipes some with a Greek influence. All have turned out pretty much like the picture. Yes there are pictures for almost all of the dinners. Rick keeps things simple like using frozen vegetables ready rolled pastry on occasion or crunched up ginger nut biscuits in dessert recipes although mainly fresh produce is the main stay.I only really started cooking properly 2 years ago starting with Jamie’s 5 ingredient book I now find through experience that many cook books need recipes modified to make the meals taste right Ricks books has all the amounts and timing spot on

The best cookery book ever
I bought 2 recipe books as Christmas presents- this one and another one from a tv chef. The first book yielded only one recipe whereas this one ..! The recipes go on and on!If like me you have always associated Rick Stein with seafood recipes, be prepared for something different. This book is written in a chatty way, with recipes for all tastes using veg or fish or meat with lots of herbs and spices to maximise flavour. The recipes are easy to follow and easy to cook for just one-or two- or for friends. I have cooked 6 of the recipes already - and more earmarked to cook !
