The new version of this is very good, I have installed several and they all work perfectly. Unfortunately the one I purchased was an untested secondhand decoder. It was faulty, buzzing sound and smoking when plugged in and also pieces missing

Been having loads of issues getting these to work on my Hornby Flying Scotsman. There isn’t enough tech support out there at the moment and Hornby technical support isn’t ideal for weekend contact as their hours are very limited. However after some playing around, I discovered that one of the pins needed bending slightly to actually make contact and power properly which may suggest a poor design. Now it is working I am over the moon with it and it’s a great sound coming from the engine!

great price for quality product. Not a toy!

Fitting one in a castle and the other is a hall. Easy to fit and sound quality is good. It takes about 25 mins to download the sound profile but it is well worth it.

Sure it was a faulty unit sent it bank . You get what you pay for allways had ESU thoight i hive this ago complete rubbish i know its cheaper than ESU but i stay with ESU

Kwaliteit voor een relatief lage prijs. Deze decoder is heel eenvoudig te installeren, en komt met een eigen plug-in speaker met diverse maten van behuizingen, aanpasbaar voor de locomotief naar keuze. Met de DCC-app is het geluidsprofiel naar keuze snel geïnstalleerd, en dan kan je volop gebruik maken van zowel de app als een installatie naar keuze. Ondertussen al een dozijn in gebruik. Voorlopig zijn de profielen nog beperkt tot Britse locomotieven.

From the beginning the Hornby HM7000-8TXS was constantly stopping and re-starting. Stopping and re-starting all the time. Not very concerned, as a power bank was not fitted, was sold out, and waited to Hornby to supply a new lot. Then, one day the decoder HM7000-8TXS simply just didn't re-start one more time. It didn't start or re-start ever. So doesn't work anymore! Contacted Amazon and RareWaves.es regarding the warranty and the first time the answer was vague, second time RareWaves didn't answered. I now have a dead Hornby HM7000-8TXS!

Si vous n'avez pas de centrale DCC, vous pouvez faire comme si il y en avait une grâce au Bluetooth. Un transfo DC (courant continue) 14 volts fait le job. Et si vous avez une centrale, c'est compatible avec le DCC. Même si les sons sont anglais, on trouve un profil assez près de nos machines. Et à moins de 54€ le décodeur avec le son, c'est vraiment interessant. A la maison je tourne en DCC avec la centrale Z21, et au club, en DC avec le Bluetooth.

These are so cool. Install in your Loco and then connect it to the Hornby DCC App (important, don't use the old DC App) and then you can upload different sound file sets to the decoder - Steam, Diesel and one Electric Class 71 currently. Only iPhone app so far but Android is coming very soon apparently. Comes with the decoder, a sugar cube speaker with a small plug and 7 different size enclosures (baffles) for the speaker.
