Great product
Our vet recommended a child's sized chamber which was only £23. But it was far too big for my small cat and she wasn't breathing into it. We decided to try this aerokat because it is specially designed for cats and it works so much better. The smallest sized mask works well for her and we can now tell on the more sensitive indicator that she holds her breath for a little while at first. Does the job great and is less stressful for the cat. It comes apart well for washing too.

Expensive but worth it
I bought a cheaper chamber a while back which advertised a similar mechanism with that valve/flap to show when your pet is breathing in as well as to stop exhalation going back in to the chamber. It was awful. The rubber flaps didn't move at all and thus wasn't getting his medicine.I removed the flaps so the medicine would float in the chamber while he breathed, but little did I know the little bugger wasn't breathing for the first few seconds but of course, because I removed the God-awful valve, I didn't know.Cat started wheezing the other day and I thought a few things and getting a new chamber was one of them, because he obviously wasn't getting the correct dose.I have to thank endlessly one user who posted a video of them adminstering their cats inhaler, as I could very clearly see the Aerokat valve working and instantly purchased this. The Aerokat chamber has taught me that my little man tends to hold his breath or breathe shallow for the first few seconds, and then starts breathing normally because the valve indicator actually moves. The mask is made of very soft silicone (I assume it's silicone) and makes a good seal. While expsensive, I'm super happy I bought it. Recommended.

Well designed
Great product, the Flow vu indicator is great. My cats taken to her inhaler well. The smaller mask fits her well. It’s taken about 4 weeks of training but she comes to me for treats and inhaler. I do hold her by the scruff of the neck but she doesn’t mind and stays for another treat after her inhaler. Her breathing is much better with the inhaler and I like that it instantly relieves her asthma symptoms if they are bad unlike the steroid tablets she was on.

If only they had spare parts for sale. I will buy a cheaper one next time.
My cat needed steroid inhaler, and it started taking without problems at all, I swaddled him in the beginning, but after a week he ws taking it without objection. He now takes Ventolin as an when. No more steroids for him, after two months, nearly all his whiskers and fur fell out, and when he started fighting it, I stopped giving it to him.

Good product - very simple to use
All good so far, my cat thinks I'm a bit odd when I use this ('what on earth are you doing' look!) but she has accepted it after only a few days (a treat before and after helps.) The little flap that moves to show you the breaths is excellent. As far as the device is concerned, I'm very pleased with it and although it's early days, I haven't heard her cough recently so fingers crossed! You get 2 different size face masks which is a good idea. When you get to times like this it really pays back the dividends on all the hands on interaction I've had with her from kittenhood - lots of cuddles, checking her paws, eyes, nose etc so she's used to being handled (and prodded) from a young age.Only reason for not giving 5 stars is I feel that - like most medication for pets - it's very overpriced for what it is. If this was an optional purchase there is no way I would have paid as much but obviously it's become an essential piece of kit now. I'm hoping the money goes back to research for more petmeds.

Worth the extra money!
The media could not be loaded. Didn't know if my cat would take to an inhaler so brought a cheap one to train. Put licky links in nose piece & he got used to it. Then had to actually use spray but went straight through & he pulled away, also didn't know if he was actually inhaling any of it.Decided to take the risk of spending the money on Aerokat as vet had recommended. Should have got this first. He puts his face in to get his treat & then I spray. He does not pull away like before & I can now see exactly how many breaths he is taking in. Definitely worth spending the extra to get this.

Lifesaver
This is a truly remarkable product.i ordered it way back in April,i was very apprehensive about using it,so i watched youtube tutorials and learned as much as i could about the product.i started off playing with my cat ,we played with the mask for about six weeks rubbing it on her fur ,then putting treats in it.just getting her used to the feel of the mask on her face.then the big day came, the day to use an inhaler.i was so nervous, that she might refuse it.i put the radio on ,to make it a bit noisy so she wouldnt hear the click of the inhaler.pleased to say the six weeks training has paid off..i have a good routine going now,set up the inhaler shake it attach to aerokat, rub mask on kittys fur to make it smell of her,set her on my knee ,rubbing her chest while she inhales sometimes 14 puffs of flixotide.afterwards big fuss ,wash her face, give her treats and some milk.no more coughing or gasping for breath job done aerokat .thank yous so much for inventing such a wonderful device☺☺
