When Ambedkar met Dewey
This book is the story of one great mind, BR Ambedkar, and how he used and modified the thoughts of another great mind, the American pragmatist philosopher John Dewey. Scott Stroud presents a novel picture of Ambedkar, beloved icon for millions of anti-caste activists, and establishes him as a political philosopher in his own right. Arguably the best intellectual portrait of the Man out there!

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: The Greatest Intellectual of Modern India
Font size is too small. Some reviewers provided misleading information about Dr Ambedkar and John Dewey in the review section. They are writing that Dr Ambedkar never mentioned Dewey's name in his writings and speeches. Such reviewers never studied Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. The reality is that there was a great understanding between Babasaheb Ambedkar and John Dewey. Dr Ambedkar mentioned the philosophy of John Dewey in his Writings and Speeches so many times. In the 1st volume of his Writings and Speeches (page 111), Dr Ambedkar says:"Prof. John Dewey, who was my teacher and to whom I owe so much, has said: “Every society gets encumbered with what is trivial, with dead wood from the past, and with what is positively perverse... As a society becomes more enlightened, it realizes that it is responsible not to conserve and transmit the whole of its existing achievements, but only such as make for a better future society.”
