Another great industrial band from Alfa Matrix
I recently discovered Diffuzion through machineKUNT's compilation EXTREME WOMEN IN THE DARK FUTURE with their song "No Passive Isolation". I was immediately hooked on the infectious melodies, the Erica Dunham-like vocals, and dark pulsating dance beats. I liked the song so much I bought the group's cd BODY CODE oline. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the rest of the album does not sound like "No Passive Isolation". Some of the songs on BODY CODE reminded me quite a bit like fellow Alfa Matrix labelmate Ayria. All fourteen tracks are irresistably catchy and have a lot of energy. I really like how Xev's vocals don't stick to one particular style. On "One Way" Xev's vocals goes from distorted to polished and cold and back to distorted. On "No Passive Isolation", her vocals are quite similiar to Miss Unter Null's (aka Erica Dunham) with its course, distorted, aggressive style of singing. All fourteen tracks are excellent but the one song that really stood out with me is the very poppish-sounding "Wondering" which is an excellent way to end the cd. The song is so darn catchy it is hard not to get the song stuck in one's head. Alfa Matrix is quickly becoming another favorite label for me to discover new bands that I never heard of. Diffuzion is such a great find. I definitely would rank their album BODY CODE in the top ten list of best cd releases of 2008.
