Extra Deep - Just What I Wanted
Sealproof 2-Gang Extra Deep In Use Outdoor Outlet CoverI had previously had a "normal" depth outdoor outlet cover. It looked like the cords were kinked in order to close the cover. After a Google search that produced a lot of pricey alternatives, I settled on this as close to what I was replacing and very reasonably priced.Installation was mostly easy. The only negative was the cover dropping in the way while attaching to the wall. It would have been nice to be able to remove the cover; otherwise, easy. After installation, I found it was relatively easy to remove the cover; wishing I had done this for the installation. (See pics.)The end result is much more room in the outlet and no more kinked cords. It is exactly what I wanted.

Great but no quite right for me
It works great and looks great. I'd say the only issue was that the plates that go over the outlets did not line up with the screws on our outlet. They were just ever so slightly off that I had to put in new holes with a drill to get them to kind of go on. Should have been a 5 min install turned into 30-40min of trying to figure out how I was gonna get it to go on and stay sealed/waterproof.

Fits well.
Somewhat difficult to install, but fit and solved my problem with extension cord plugs that stuck out too far for regular weather proof covers to close properly.

It is weather proof. And solved the need to have it in use even in the rain.

Great product for the price
Great Product. It is as strong and as sturdy as the $27-$31 models you can find in HD and Lowe's. It comes with all the different parts for all configurations.

The extra deep depth is great, but the installation is silly, and the finished job is not great
I have installed at least 4 different types of outdoor outlet covers. I needed the depth of this product, but I encourage you to believe the reviews complaining about the installation process. I did another brand without the extra depth in about 30 seconds. This one, I kid not, took 30 minutes. It is an exercise in frustration. Line up 2 duplex outlets, push them back into the box. If you have done wiring before you can guess what happens next -- they push forward in the box because of the pressure from the wires. So now hold two outlets back while lining up four screw head openings on the flimsy faceplates that only gently snap into the main box. Guess what? The faceplates unsnap. One or the other. Once all four screws are perfectly lined up and you have both faceplates staying in place, keep holding the outlets back with one hand, press in the faceplates with the four screws going perfectly through the holes, and slide the faceplates attached to the cover to the left, without either one unsnapping from the cover or getting out of alignment. Easy! Ha.The finished product is also very crummy inside the box. The openings for the screws leave gaps, the flimsy faceplates bend, tightening down the screws to create a good seal on the outside of the box bends the flimsy faceplates more. All around this is just not a professional acting or looking product. Using the same screws to hold the outlets in the electrical box, and to also hold the whole cover assembly to the electrical box is just not a good design at all. It should be done with separate screws like in other similar products and even faceplates! They also advertise this as suitable for horizontal installation -- but if you want the door to open horizontally, the wires also need to come out horizontally. The wire holes should always be at the bottom of the cover to keep the rain out, but that is not possible with a side opening door on this product.Does it actually keep things dry with vertical door opening? Probably? It is under some protection in my install so I think it will work.Is it solid enough inside to unplug and plug things in frequently? No.Does it look good on the exterior when installed? Yes.Does it look good on the interior? No.Is it easy to install? Absolutely not.Can you install with a side opening door? Not if you want it to stay very dry inside.Tips to install: Use the short screws, not the long ones.If you need the depth there are not a lot of choices, but I'd choose a different one next time.
