Small Tripod, Big Performance: Cobra 3 Mini Desktop Tripod
The IFOOTAGE Cobra 3 Monopod Base-P Mini Desktop Tripod is a compact but powerful piece of gear that has quickly become one of my go-to tools. The build quality is outstanding—solid metal construction that feels sturdy yet surprisingly lightweight. The ball joint mechanism is smooth and provides a wide range of motion, making it easy to get creative angles without any fuss. One of my favorite features is how versatile it is. It works beautifully as a mini desktop tripod for cameras, lights, or even microphones, but also doubles as a monopod base when paired with the Cobra 3 system. The quick-release design makes swapping setups fast and seamless, which is perfect for run-and-gun shooting. The rubber feet provide excellent grip on different surfaces, and it can handle more weight than I initially expected for such a small form factor. It’s extremely portable—fits right into a bag without taking up much space—yet it doesn’t compromise on stability. If you’re a content creator, filmmaker, or photographer who values both flexibility and durability, this is absolutely worth the investment. IFOOTAGE nailed the balance between portability and performance with this mini tripod.

Perfect for what I need
Well made, quality base that I should have got the first time. Is there better? probably, but descent price and quality that usually requires more $$$

They should sell the QD system (not just the plates)0
If you look on YouTube or the like you will find a ton of videos about ifootage monopods. I’m not going to try and replicate all of those reviews. I am going to focus on two things: using the mini tripod as a mini tripod, and using it with a Gitzo monopod. As a mini tripod this has some great features and some quirks. The legs lock into several fixed positions, which is better than some of the “good” mini tripods that count on friction. For example I have a smallrig mini tripod that I only ever use at the lowest position because it doesn’t lock. The quick disconnect is the least valuable feature. They sell the plates for it so you could have a video head and a ball head ready to swap out but unless you can buy the socket part to add to other tripods you are going to be leaving one head attached to this or unscrewing heads anyway. The quick disconnect adds height so the tripod ends up being fairly tall even at the lowest setting. It’s also fairly stiff to use. Looking at this just as a tripod I’d prefer an arca plate and a thumb screw for adjusting. The foot pedal is really good in monopod mode but hard to use with your hands. Also, it doesn’t lock in any position except straight up. I already had a Gitzo monopod I’ve been using a long time. The rubber nub/steel spike on the Gitzo is a 3/8 thread. Unscrew it, and the iFootage tripod screws on easily. I’d rather use what I have over buying something I already own. There foot pedal action is really convenient on a monopod. The quick centering is great. The maximum lean angle, on the other hand, is taking some getting used to. I’ve spent years leaning the monopod more than this thing allows. That’s not a fault of the tripod but something to keep in mind. The downside to using this with your own monopod, again, is that they don’t seem to sell the quick disconnect socket. If they did, I would put one on my Gitzo and have all the features of the ifootage system without buying something I already have. As it stands, I can and will use this as a foot for my monopod but the quick disconnect might as well but be there. On flat level ground you can stand the monopod up on the tripod feet, but it makes me really nervous to have a camera balanced that way even in a controlled environment. For one shoot I used it that way with a magic arm and some clamps attached to a desk just in case someone got too close, and it allowed a camera placement that would have been difficult with a tripod. So, I think my short summary is this: if you want it as a mini tripod, i suspect the non-pedal version is better. If you want this as a foot for your existing monopod, the pedal tripod is nice but you won’t get the feature of being able to quickly convert from monopod to mini tripod because they don’t sell the QD base.

Outstanding table top tripod!
You won’t find a better, well-made, sturdy, tabletop tripod than this one. All metal construction, easily adjustable, and the ball head works fantastic at getting you and your camera to the right spot. I highly recommend it.

Short stand with plenty of strength for heavier rigs
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I liked my first one. I bought a second one. They are sturdy, easy to set up, hold my gear in place, … and are short and fat and look cute!

Not good for big cameras
I have the Black Magic cinema 6K for frame. The complete rig fully built out is just under 12 pounds. I know that if I angle the camera fully built out, it will not be able to handle the weight to keep it in the position that I want it in…. but I removed some of the parts and kept it bare bones to just the camera and a follow. Focus attached with an SSD and it would still slouch over tilting the camera. My assumption on the weight limit is not based on if it can hold the camera on the locked position when I read a description my assumption is that it can bear the weight in any position not in one if I had a smaller camera like a Sony FX three this would be perfect because it is based off of tension and can bear the weight of a hybrid camera

Best one on the market for its price
Mind blowing honestly. Will be using it for many many years. Contruction is top-notch, easy to carry (it becomes very small), and cam hold moderately heavy objects like cameras with no issue. My favourite tripod stand base right now.
