The best out there!
After buying other brands that didn't work and was horrible to put together, I finally found this ones. The best option, and so easy to put together and to take them apart to change courtines. The best.

Good curtain rod
Allows curtain to wrap back to the wall. Working well for us.

Best Blackout Curtain Rods
I've bought five of these rods so far - three for our old home that we brought with us when we moved and another two for our new home. The wrap-around design really helps keep more light out at the sides, and using these with blackout curtains over blackout cellular shades gets the room pitch dark. The hardware has held up well even after being installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled elsewhere a few times. One long rod did bend when my preschooler decided to swing from the curtains hanging on it, but these aren't designed to hold a zip lining 3-year-old so I can't hold that against them.I do recommend using sturdier screw-in drywall anchors if you have them, but I'm sure the ones that come with it are adequate if you don't have semi-feral children.

Add 2" to your window size
I bought these curtain rods about 1.5 years ago, and there's a lot I like about them: they're easy to install, they wrap around to allow better light filtration and insulation, the nickel finish is durable, you don't have to fiddle with screws to take your curtains off to wash them because the design of these curtain rods makes that process super simple - just lift the end off the bracket and remove curtains with grommets, or twist the rod off the end to remove pocket curtains. What I don't like: the manufacturer is inconsistent about including the plastic piece that goes in the middle between the two parts of the rod that slide into each other. That omission makes pulling the curtains open and close every day a bit tricky since the curtains snag on the larger metal rod every time they cross that part of it. With grommet curtains, that creates an inconvenience. With pocket curtains, it would eventually tear them.I'd also suggest that when measuring your windows to add 2" to the width of your window so that you can mount these on the studs which are usually centered 1" outside the window on each side, if you want to be able to block all light with your curtains. I made the mistake of ordering the exact 48" window size, and mounting the brackets on the studs at their 50" width, has caused a dip in the rod which is unattractive and a bit annoying. Plus, the lack of plastic buffer between the two rods makes the dip even more evident. I ended up inserting a 1/2" dowel into the rods to help straighten them. The pics I've included have the temporary curtains I used for insulation until I found the curtains I wanted.

Great Design
Easy to install and very attractive curtain rods, although you wont see much of them- Which is the look I prefer. They are the perfect rods in bedrooms to keep all the light out when closed. I happen to like a LOT of Umbra designs and this is another one to add to my list. Thank you so much, Five stars!

Love these rods!!!!
I have these rods in all my windows. They don’t stick out like other curtain rods and you don’t have a big gap between the window and the curtain. I like that because we hang light blocking curtains up to keep it dark during the day so my hubby can sleep. Other rods leave a lot of space between the curtain and the window. They are very easy to hang too!

I can now live like a vampire!
First things first, I used 28 to 48-Inch model for a window frame that is 46.5 inches across. It ended up working great for me, but I still wanted to mention a few things…For those of you that are like me and have never put up a curtain rod before, please note that there is usually metal that goes out about 1 inch all the way around the window frame. The first hole I tried to drill, I hit metal, woops! So just make sure you drill far enough out to make sure you can make it through the drywall. This also may affect your measurements, because if your window frame is 48 inches, you may actually need more like 50 inches, so that would put you up into the next 48-88 inch model. The only downside to getting the bigger one is that it costs more, other than that; it should increase the rigidity of the curtain rod.My goal was to block out as much sunlight as possible because I like to sleep in on the weekends so I needed a curtain rod that allowed the curtains to wrap around the side. I first ended up trying light blocking curtains from walmart that were ranked “best” on their good, better, best scale; and they were complete garbage. I then tried these ones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AFA5LI/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i08?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I can say that they are better at blocking light than any other curtains I’ve ever seen. I know this will make me sound like a vampire, but even with this wraparound curtain rod and these amazing curtains, some light still manages to come out of the top. There is a gap between the curtain rod and the wall, if anyone has a suggestion to remedy this, it would be greatly appreciated. The other note I wanted to make is that these are very user friendly to install, you just mount the brackets to the wall and then slide the sides over them and screw the extending rod into each end. The only problem with the easy install slide-on brackets; is that they don’t feel very solid. It will surely hold up your curtains, but it leaves something to be desired for rigidity.I still give these 5 stars as I am now able to sleep in on weekends without the sun waking me up!Please let me know if you have any questions.
