It grips my sat nav device well. I do not wish to use adhesive pad on dashboard of my new car but without it the crocodile slides about.

Looks really cool, would look cooler if it sat flush on the dash but has a large chunk of plastic at the rear which must be for the spring fixings ? Definitely not shown in the pictures and makes the whole thing unstable so i would recommend a silicone mat to place this on to stop it slipping.

I also had purchased a grip mat prior to this, in order to test the sat-nav holder which came with it, needless to say that one was rubbish and I needed an alternative.I wasn't sure looking at the specs, but a review said it had plenty of room for a 7 inch display, which it certainly does, the mouth opens enough to be able to get the unit in to the second set of teeth so you have a bit of space to set the angle you want the device to sit.As for the grip, I had no intention to use the adhesive pad it has equipped, so I stuck an autumn leaf to the adhesive pad, and plopped the whole thing onto the grip mat I bought already, they make a great combination.Looks dope too, but the real reason I wanted this item in particular, there is a small tray inside it I can use as storage...a nice detail to note and certainly not necessary, but it is a good feature to have available.I should also add the base of the holder has a sort of rubberized surface on the bottom, I believe some folks may find the adhesive pad and grip surface sufficient on their own.

Although this product is novel looking, it isn't very practical. Unless the surface is completely flat, it doesn't stay in place. The supposedly non-slip pad doesn't stick to the dash. The product though does keep the satnav steady and keeps it in place better than the whole thing keeps in place. I still use it for a holde, but don't put it in front of me, cause as I said it doesn't stay put.

OK, I've only had it a few days but already its impressed me. I`m a trucker and I`ve got a Snooper 6400 satnav. The suction mount gave up the ghost a year or so ago. Snoopers replacements are DISGUSTINGLY expensive so I wouldn't go there. I used to just pace my satnav on the dash. It used to fall all over the place and slide off. I eventually bit the bullet and chose this. Its great. Well made, humorous looking but well up to the job. It doesn't move on my dash no matter how fierce I manoeuvre the truck. Bouncing over potholes, it just stays solidly in place. There is a small rectangular piece underneath that you can tear the protective film off and have it stuck to your dash even firmer but seeing as I change trucks a lot, I wont use that and to be honest, I don`t think i`ll have to anyway. My satnav is a 7 " version and its held with ease. It`d probably take an 8" device as well. I've tried my 10" tablet (Samsung, and it CANT open wide enough to support that). I`ll come back in six months and update this review or sooner if something goes wrong but at the moment, I`m well pleased.

This unit works well holding a satnav as required. Unfortunately the unit does not stick to the dashboard so well, however it is heavy enough to not slip and slide around. I wish it didn’t look the way it does, but then that is not a bad thing against the product just personal taste. It is quite a big thing, so measure up and make sure you have enough room. It works very well holding the unit in its jaws.

This holder holds most satnavs or phones well, adjusting automatically to the size of the device.But the rubber base does not have enough “bean bag” to adjust well to the shape of the top of cars dashboards. There is also a hard bit of plastic below the hinge on the bottom that stops most of the none slip base making contact with the dashboards. This hard bit of plastic has some glue on it to sick to the dashboard​, but this is unacceptable as leaving a holder on display is asking for a car to be broken into, also we need to be able to use the holder in rental cars etc as well as both of our cars.A great design concept badly implemented by the off-shore factory should be binned not sold on Amiazon……

Holds phone and Tom Tom sat nav really well, however like several other reviewers the whole thing slides all over the place on the dashboard to the point of it being quite dangerous! Even tried using the self adhesive part which didn't stop it either. Great if you just want to sit stationary in your car otherwise it's pretty useless! After several days of thought and using a rubber sat nav mounting mat attached to this clip via some Velcro, it now actually works and doesn't slide! Maybe manufacturer should have had rubber mat base not material bean bag.
