¡For palm grip lefties, this is your gaming mouse! [it's great for you righties too.]
Expectations: Since most brands give a hearty "EFF YOU" to lefties, my expectations were to be slightly disappointed in yet another not-really-ambidextrous mouse, get forced into using a modified claw grip just to avoid accidentally hitting forward/back buttons placed specifically for a right handed grip. All while cursing the manufacturer under my breath. This is the state of gaming mice to get a 3 star review from a lefty.Reality: TLDR; This RedImp mouse rocked my world. Five stars is not enough. My right handed son feels the same. Now for people that are interested in details, feel free to read on.I've tried "full size" ambidextrous gaming mice from VicTsing, Razer, Uhuru, Logitech, and Corsair. They are far below this mouse in terms of design and usability, and none, save the last one, should really claim to be ambidextrous. So let's start off with the important part -- Ergonomics: Keep in mind, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool lefty that often wonders how right handed people even survive by using that useless appendage. In addition, my hands are on the large side, and i like a palm grip. This mouse fits perfectly. I use the forward and back buttons in games [if they allow custom assignment] and this RedImp mouse has them placed ideally. While this RedImp mouse is not truly ambidextrous because the forward/back buttons are only on one side, it doesn't matter because of superior design. In the few weeks I've been using it, I haven't accidentally hit these buttons once, but they're right where I expect them when I want to use them. RedImp is the only manufacturer to accomplish this.Hold your hand, relaxed and sideways, and you'll see that natural curve your hand wants to be in. For me, this RedImp mouse fits into that curve perfectly. The surface that my palm touches has just enough grip, but is not so rubbery that I feel like I'm holding an eraser. The sides of the mouse are robust plastic with a smooth finish that allows your fingers to easily move as you need to change your grip (to use the forward or back button, for example), but a molded in texture that avoids letting them be slippery - so grip changes only happen when you intentionally do it. Some edges are abrupt, but RedImp has taken the time to slightly round each edge, so there's nothing sharp. The scroll wheel has the largest diameter I've seen on a gaming mouse, giving it a very supple feeling when using it. RedImp managed to give the wheel very little stiction, so you can scroll effortlessly, but at the same time, when you want to use the scroll wheel as a third button, it doesn't accidentally slip. It's not so sensitive that you overwhelm a game causing flutter, yet has enough resolution to be quick responding. In short, every manufacturer should look at RedImp and learn how to make a scroll wheel. Finally, this is a high performant corded mouse, but RedImp even paid attention to this often forgotten detail. The cord is not wrapped in vinyl (which tends to be high friction) like so many other mice, but instead wrapped in a smooth, abrade resistant, tightly woven nylon. This means, while using the mouse, that cord moves around frictionlessly, giving the feeling of a wireless mouse.Usability: This is actually more subjective than one would expect. For example, the 4 DPI settings are plenty to me, maybe even excessive. For me, 1600 is great for games, and 1000 is perfect for day-to-day use. I'll never use the 2400 or 800 DPI settings, but I'm sure there are people passionate about these extremes, so RedImp has you covered. There's just enough perceptible difference between each setting to know where you are, so getting to the desired resolution is a no-brainer. To boot, the button to change the DPI setting is intuitively placed, but out of the way enough that you'll never accidentally hit it during use. The slides on the mouse are your standard super-low friction material (probably PTFE), but sized larger than any other mouse I mentioned above - making the RedImp glide smoothly. The buttons are quiet, but still emit a click that lets you know they've been engaged (I'm not a fan of silent mice). They require very little travel to engage, so they're fast, but they're not as effortless as other mice (which often leads to accidental clicks). At the same time, nothing about them feels stiff. I hate to call the buttons "perfect," but as the saying goes "if it's covered in feathers, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck..." Same goes for the scroll wheel which I mentioned previously. It does have feedback to let you know you're turning it, but not so much to cause undo stiction. It has a high quality rubber covering that gives it plenty of grip, so no missed adjustments via the scroll wheel.Aesthetics: While I want to say I don't care, I do. The lighting is as pictured, with each color being robust. It's bright enough to be seen in a lit room, but not so bright that you'd be distracted while using this mouse in a dark room (well done RedImp), and transitions from one color to another are smooth and interesting. To boot, the logo and the lighting is enough to give the mouse character without being entirely garish. It has just enough of what I call "the batmobile look" (aka. edginess) to visually identify as a modern gaming device, but RedImp hasn't taken this look so far to impact the usability of the mouse.Build Quality: I have little empirical data here, most of my quality assessments are based on feeling. Knowing that, from my samples (see above), the Razer was (<-- keyword there) the gold standard in build quality. This mouse feels good in every way, at one quarter of the price. The afore mentioned braided nylon cord covering feels like ballistic nylon. I doubt RedImp went that far, but it speaks to how much attention they paid to making this product feel solid. The mouse is light, but not so much that they resorted to using flimsy or unneeded exotic materials. As a lefty, I finally have access to a usable, high performance, ergonomic gaming mouse. Icing on the cake, it's priced like a run-o'-mill office mouse. If you're a righty, you have access to lots of mice that fit you, but you'll spend a lot more getting the same level of performance from the mainstream brands.

Does exactly what I wanted, perfect for a beginner/intermediate gamer...
First of all, the RGB is not configurable, but I don't have an RGB setup, and the colors are bright, but not too bright that I have to unplug it at night. They have a very neat effect, and make it look like a much higher end gaming mouse.Buttons: The buttons have just the right amount of play between an actual click and pressure from your fingers. I really like the right and left mouse buttons. The scroll wheel is perfect, it has wedges that stop you from over or under rotating. I can easily scroll one roll up or one roll down instantly. I can also click the scroll wheel and it performs quite well. There are many other mice that have multiple side buttons for your right thumb. For the game I play most, I needed two. They are distinct from each other and since day 1 I have never pressed the wrong one.Build quality: This design is well made and the cord is a good length. For my setup, I have maybe 18" of extra that I leave over the edge behind the computer, but if your tower was a little bit farther away, or on the other side of the monitor from your hand, this cord would easily reach it. It also feels very tough, and you can see the braided nylon, which I have only been using for a week or so, but seems like it will last for quite some time.I am just making the transition from console games to PC games, and I'm having a lot of fun doing it. This mouse is one of the key pieces that makes the gameplay fun and helps me, even if I mess up a little bit. I still haven't gotten the hang of playing "fluidly" like I did with a remote in my hand, but I assume the learning curve takes a while. One more thing: The DPI button is EXTREMELY helpful. It can set the mouse speed on the fly in the middle of a match. I press it, and move the mouse left and right quickly, then press it again, and same thing, and I keep pressing it until I am satisfied with the sensitivity of the mouse speed. I believe the slowest and next slowest are not my favorite. There are two faster speeds that I am not ready to be "on target" with the mouse moving that fast, but it is nice to know that I am in the medium range.I got a large mouse pad (cheap but nice) and this mouse, and its definitely helping my gameplay and I am slowly becoming a PC gamer, which once I am able to do things without looking around or trying to remember what to press, I will be much better off, but this mouse is excellent for my needs.

Good quality mouse for the price.
The mouse has a side button and lights up. It can serve as both a fidget toy and a functional mouse at times. It is ergonomic and the quality of the material is pretty decent.

Great for regular mouse work
Great little mouse for price tag. Clicks and rolls good. Feels sturdy and it's an interesting material that's soft.By no stretch could it be considered a "gaming mouse". It's pretty standard with no programmable or extra buttons. It's a standard mouse with laser light show. Not sure why it's marketed as a gaming mouse. It's perfect for the office or home. I couldn't find a comfortable speed setting using the middle button and ended up having to fine tune the speed in regular computer settings . The speeds it has are either too slow or too fast IMO. Minor gripes for the good deal it was . I'd buy another to keep at home possibly

Good budget gaming mouse
At the time of this review I haven't had the mouse for too long, but it's functional and stylish and easy to use in both FPS games as well as windowed operating systems. Very little to complain about. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't remember the DPI setting when the computer restarts or comes back from standby. My preference isn't the default!
