This whetstone has just the right amount of coarse & fine sharpening for pocket knives, metal lathe bits, chisels, push knives, kitchen knives, kitchen shears, whatever!If you need a finer edge than what this produces, your gonna have a hard time doin it.

Needed to sgarpen a dull katana, it took linger than expected but it got the job done well

I sharpened my firebird fh41s' D2 steel blade with this stone; I didn't go on to higher grit, just used the 400 and 1000 that came on the stone, work great not an excess of stone lost and the blade sharpened up nicely.Best,Mike

My wife was in need of having the kitchen knives sharpened.In the past we had purchased several different brands of the sharpening devices thatyou pull your knifes though to sharpen them.Many of them came with 5 star ratings but I could never really make them work and the knives seemed to remain dull no matter how many times I pulled the blade though them.This seems like a more professional method so I figured I would give it a try.This set comes with the Stone; I got the 2000/600 model, a rubber base to keep it in place and an angle guide.I did not use the angle guide but the stone worked perfectly. It took off more materialthan the other devices we had purchased in the past in very short order.The edge I got was much better and sharper than anything I had used before.I think this would work nicely on and style of knife you might have, Kitchen or Pocket.
