60“ Snake Tongs Collapsible Grabber, Professional Reptile Snake Catcher Wide Jaw Handling Tool, Stainless Steel Snake Hook

Bought this for the wife, as she comes across snakes as she is in her gardens. She had been trying to use a reach tool to grab them and was not having great luck with it. The grabbers at the end of this tool are purpose built and work well. She was able to easily snatch the snake, put it in a container and transport it to a different location. Was easy to assemble, and the instructions and replacement parts were in the box. I’ve read another review complaining of no instructions, but after shaking the box upside down a bit to get mine I think maybe that person didn’t look hard enough? Anyway, this device has made the wife happy.

Haven't actually used it on a snake yet, but that 60 inch length? That's a solid win in my book. It really works great helping to remove the rattle snakes from outside my house.I just put the snakes back on the desert and they help maintaining the pack rats away from my home.This device is very easy to operate, if you have snakes by your house you need to have at least one.

I love the overall design of these tongs: long to give you plenty of protection, good gripping jaws, and collapsible shaft to make for easy storage. I've used them twice now with success; however, the wire cable that extends from the hand lever to the tongs on the end is about 1-2 inches too short which only allow for manual use of the tongs. In other words, you must keep a continuous steady pressure on the lever, but not too much to keep from killing the snake. When testing the mechanism for the first time I noticed that even with the trigger handle fully compressed, the locking latch was still short of the notches on the handle to lock it. If the cable was just a bit longer, you could have plenty of play and adjust the lock to the size of the snake.I still rate the device at 4 stars because I like the design well enough, even in manual mode. A backup cable with fittings comes with the device, but it looks like a bit of job to replace it, so I have not done that to see if the alternate cable is the correct length. I'm happy to use it as is for now but will eventually trade out the cable.

I bought this snake grabber when my neighbor spotted a copperhead near our shared fence a couple weeks ago. I seriously doubted I would ever use it, but thought it might be good idea to have it "on hand" just in case. Today I went into the backyard and saw this coral snake near the base of our tree. I grabbed the snake grabber and a bucket (with a top) out of the garage and had this little beauty safely secured inside in about 2 minutes. The snake was unharmed and could not escape the serrated jaws. Placed the bucket in the back of my truck and released the snake into some nearby woods. A humane option to rid your property of snakes that get a little too close for comfort.
