So I’m a 38 year old male and over the past couple of years my skin has been prone to getting clogged with excess sebum and breakouts. I recently decided to change my routine to try and break the cycle of stress/acne management. I was looking for a super gentle moisturiser that would calm my skin down and reduce oil production - was previously using (very small amounts) natural oils such as jojoba and tallow to hydrate and was a bit dubious to use a cosmetic product but thought I’d give it a try. This moisturiser has met my expectations in a couple of ways - it doesn’t trigger my sensitive skin, it’s lightweight and calming, doesn’t leave my skin greasy and doesn’t promote more oil throughout the day/night. I have only used it for a few days but I noticed an immediate improvement - less oil, skin plumper and more hydrated, less redness and hyperpigmentation from previous acne is a lot calmer and less visible. I noticed that my skin appeared drier after the first couple of uses and this seemed to be my skin barrier turning over and shedding dead flakes, once I did a gentle exfoliation it was fine. I’m going to persevere with this product and see if it holds up. I can imagine it being good in warmer weather also as it’s not greasy at all. Certainly good value. Clearly a high quality product and does what it claims to. Interested to see the effect over time. Paired this with Avene Tolerance gentle cleanser which seems to be a nice gentle product that feels clean and non reactive on my skin. Also avoiding getting hot water on my face in the shower, so with these three things combined I hope to see a positive change over time! Hope this review helps anyone out there who is experiencing problematic skin and is looking for suitable treatments.

I have problem skin unfortunately and it has taken a long time to sort out all the issues. I used Avene Hydra 10 for about a year and whilst I enjoyed using it; it was sometimes difficult to find stock. I use Dermatica for their personalised skincare. Currently I am prescribed Adapalene. I purchased this moisturiser to see how my skin reacted. No ill effects. Lightweight get provides enough hydration to keep my skin feeling soft and supple. Adapalene can be drying but this moisturiser targets any dryness. It is also cheaper and more product in the tube than Avene so therefore I will continue to repurchase.

Overall I think this is a great moisturiser. I have sensitive acne prone skin, and this feels nice and light and hasn’t caused any breakouts. The only reason I’ve not given it 5 stars is just because I wish it was a tiny bit more moisturising as my skin feels a bit dry towards the end of the day, but that’s just me personally! I think those with oily skin would really get on with this!

I have been using dermatica azelaic acid for years now, it's all I use on my face, recently I added the anti breakout to my routine, and it's been a game changer, my skin glows and feels baby soft, it's help along with the azelaic acid banish ANY spots or dryness, all I do at night is remove my makeup in the shower WITH water and a makeup removing pad (coabe are the best) then when I'm out I use half a pump of azelaic acid and the anti breakout cream and that's it me done, clear soft glowing skin, in the morning I use the anti breakout again and it gives me such a glow all day, my skin has never been so soft and spot from, age 35 and suffered with spots for years until I changed to this routine. Hope it helps anyone wanting a simple but effective skin routine

I love this simple yet hydrating moisturiser as it doesn’t irritate or inflame my acne prone skin. It is a no frills, all round cream which is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Even better when paired with a barrier supporting serum. Thank you Dermatica!

I started breaking out for a few months and I found it strange because my routine stayed the same. I then suspected that maybe my face cream that I was previously using was breaking my out as my skin is acne prone and oily. I saw a video of someone recommending this product and it’s been less than a week and have NO active breakouts even though the time of my month is due and I always break out during this time. This is the only thing I switched in my routine and I put it all down to this cream. The cream is almost like a gel like serum and sinks into your face really quick. Only thing is I love the feeling of my face feeling really moisturised and as this sinks in super quick, it doesn’t give me that. However, this product I feel has changed my skin and has amazing ingredients that benefit my skin.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and it has a nice, lightweight texture and feels calming on my skin. I think it would be a great match for oily or blemish-prone skin types since it absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel greasy. For me though, it just isn’t moisturising enough. My skin still feels like it needs an extra layer afterwards, especially in the evenings but even during the day. While I can absolutely see the appeal for other skin types, it doesn’t meet my own skin needs, so I won’t be repurchasing - not the fault of the product just not suited to me!

I have purchased this multiple times. It leaves my skin soft, hydrated, and is so light. Not sticky at all. It is like a gel that absorbs quickly. Highly recommend!
