Using this for a robotics project. The global shutter + high FOV + close range was perfect. This is one of the best usb breadboard cameras I’ve used. (Though I still use arducams when I need a lens)

Having this mounted above my touchscreen display at the front of the classroom allows most of my students to be seen by the other party since some of their seats are close to the board but off to the side. I have a 3D printer and will make something a little more attractive to house it, but for now the mounting holes have sufficed to mount it to a piece of plastic corner bead I strung above the monitor. Since my application captures a larger area, I would prefer a 4K resolution. I have one of those cameras, but the angle of capture is not ideal for all of my situations either. As such, I can just switch between the two depending upon the situation. A 4K camera with a wide angle of capture would be ideal for my situation, but I do not want a fisheye lens. Lastly, between all of the different types, I can teach my students about field of view, frame rate, and resolution. If I use a fan, I can also teach about scan rate and how it affects capture of moving objects - especially since this camera has a superior capture rate.

I’m really confused by the price point of this camera. 80 bucks for a camera that doesn’t have an included enclosure is kind of strange. There’s definitely a place for stuff like this that’s cheap for DIY projects, but they’re usually inexpensive. As for the camera quality, it’s fine. The camera angle is wide. I’m going to use it as a camera to monitor my 3d printer. I’ll have to create a custom enclosure for it.

I could never get this to function

Picture clarity for this, ELP High Speed Wide Angle Global Shutter USB Camera, is unchallenged. The quality is remarkable. It’s fully plug and play working like any typical webcam but with superior image quality. Running 1080@60FPS images are about as crisp as stills. Haven’t had time to try 90 yet but I will. The camera seems to be well built and fairly durable considering it’s a circuited board and lens. Only drawback is the large amount of fisheye distortion due to the wide angle lens. Hoping this little cam will be suitable for some fast motion tracking. Overall it’s a decent camera if you’re not bothered by fisheye. I’d recommend for DIY where you need for it to be enclosure free. As for those who need a plug and play and forget webcam for meetings, there’s better equipped cameras out there at much netter price points.

I got this camera for 3D printer. This camera is amazing, excellent picture quality and the clarity is unbelievable. Very well made. Very happy with it, just love the effect I get from it. Very crisp. Quick and easy to install. My Opinion: Very nice camera, good quality, price is a little steep, but with the outcome, I was happy. Highly Recommend this camera, truthfully I would get another one, just that impressed with it.

The ELP High Speed Wide Angle Global Shutter USB Camera Module for Computer. I like the 120 degree no distortion lens and the excellent picture quality and I can put it into a small space and let it work from there.l really love that I don’t have to download a driver because the UVC driver is compatible with my Mac and the 1080P USB Camera Board, can shoot high-Speed moving objects in crisp sharp images which I think is totally cool. The mini camera board can be used for a lot of things like home security and video conference and Brady camera and etc.
