This was a book I could have lived in indefinitely. I found myself engrossed in the story line and loving every page. A.L. Jackson has a unique ability to write a morally grey hero who has experienced so much pain and trauma you just want to reach through the pages and give him a hug.Caleb Greyson was running from his past. He was so sure he didn’t deserve love because of the brutal things he’d done, but he knew he had to protect Evelyn. He never would have predicted that his first run-in with his “Reckless Angel” would lead him to the one woman who could bring Evelyn and him back to life. He reluctantly hired Paisley to help Evelyn learn to care for and ride her horse. And Paisley had an immediate connection with the shy, reserved 5 year old. When it becomes clear that Evelyn needs Paisley’s sunshine in her life, he asks her to not only be her trainer, but to live with them and be her nanny as well.Paisley and Caleb have a very intense relationship. They start out as enemies who are secretly attracted to one another and that leads down a road neither are prepared for. Paisley is finally finding her place after a bad relationship and Caleb is sure his heart died when he found his sister’s body a year ago. Watching them navigate their relationship, and their relationship with Evelyn, was heartbreaking at times. Caleb was so sure the danger lurking was his fault and he tried everything he knew to push Paisley away, but once she was in, she was all in.This was the perfect introduction to this new series. The Greyson cousins are men of many secrets and a lot of pain and while Paisley was the first woman to take that on with Caleb, I have no doubt the others will follow with equal angst and stubbornness. This was one of the few books I’ve read where I was surprised by who the villain was, looking back I can see the clues laid out flawlessly but in the moment I was shocked. It was such a great storyline and introduced some wonderful characters!

Evie, Paisley and Caleb are so so perfect, the three of them complements each other for the better. This new small town of Amy is definitely promising. This book has the perfect combination of sweetness, romance, lust and passion/fire. Without missing all the suspense and a little bit of darkness characteristic of this author. I love how Paisley with all her reckless and light has the power to succumb Caleb’s walls. Evelyn is one of the most amazing little girl. I love Caleb personality so much! And Paisley is Paisley Dae, she’s a force, his riot and together? Together they are amazingly perfect.Both narrators are amazing!!! Joe always knows how to makes me fell everything, all the emotions. And Andi, she’s pretty amazing too, love her voice. Excellent.Can’t wait for more of this Small Town and Time Ricer series. Who’s gonna be next, Ryder? Ezra? Dakota?

Caleb, Paisley and Evelyn were the best!Evelyn’s pure innocent love stole the show throughout the whole book. The banter between Paisley and Caleb set the tone for their relationship going forward. And there is so much to love about Paisley. She loves whole heartedly, she is strong and resilient. Caleb is a possessive and protective damaged man. He thinks he can’t love but he doesn’t even realize that he is already given his heart.This book was so good I finished it in one night.If you love a good emotional, suspenseful, angst book this is it!

I loved that this was sort of a millionaire mafia style romance but also it wasn’t. Like it had undertones of a mob boss but also he was just a dude who was somewhat shady and had money.Caleb was closed off and cold and nothing about his quirky new town or his daughters quirky new horse instructor we’re going to penetrate those walls.But he hadn’t met paisley yet and she ambushed his world without any hesitation.The relationship between paisley and Evelyn was so special and exactly what they both needed.I loved this story and it just solidifies my ever growing love for A.L. Jackson!

Paisley and Caleb (and Evelyn too)They both move to this small town where Paisley had grown up and they meet when she bumps into his car in town. Little does he know that she will be the horse trainer for his niece Evelyn. Paisley will be teaching her how to ride and care for horses. They really don't like each other at the start but after spending time together they get to understand and eventually like each other.Evelyn stole the show. She was the sweetest 5yo who was just looking for love and Paisley doled it out to her. So sweet!

Wow, this one blew me away. Loved the suspense factor. Way to kick off a brand new series. I am newer to AL Jackson and I saw these teasers for this book across social media and was pulled to it. The cover, the art… all of it. I finished the book in less than 24 hrs. Simply could not put it down. I needed answers and I loved where the story went.Well done 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟I can’t wait for more in this series.

Boy this book had me all torn up. The chemistry between Caleb and Paisley was palpable and off the charts. The love surrounding Evie-love was just breathtaking. A. L. Jackson's words flow like poetry, so beautifully written. This small town is fun and has a wonderful cast of secondary characters I can't wait to read more about. The setting was just glorious...I want to live on a ranch now. Don't miss this book!

This s one amazingly good story, a man suddenly finds himself as a parent. His sister is murdered, now leaving him custody of his niece, whom he doesn’t know. Moving to anew place, trying to make a home for them, and keep her safe, he is cautious of about everyone. Meeting someone who helps train Evelyn on her horse, seems t have a draw to them both. This story will tear at your ❤️ heart, make you feel, and love beyond words. Enjoy!

By the time his father had died and Caleb had taken over he had so much blood on his hands he could never be forgiven for his sins. That’s what he thought.When Caleb’s sister and two members of his Executive team are murdered, Caleb believe it was for revenge against him. When she leaves her Will and names Caleb as her daughter Evelyn’s guardian, Caleb moves to a country town and buys a ranch to keep his Niece safe.Paisley returned home after a relationship breakdown and is now living with her grandfather again. She was raised by her grandparents and loved them deeply, so was happy to go home and help her grandfather now that her grandmother has passed away. Paisley is a horse trainer and when a job is offered to her to teach a young five year girl how to ride a horse, Paisley jumped at the opportunity. Of course once she meets the grumpy ranch owner she is not so sure she did the right thing.This is Caleb and Paisley’s story with danger lurking in the background as Caleb hunts down his sister’s killer. There is also a lot of 🔥with these two volatile MCs😂😂This was an awesome read and I am really looking forward to Ryder and Dakota’s story.

Highly recommend this book! If you love a guardian turned single dad in a small town, definitely pick it up. There's also the aspect of him being a billionaire with a slightly dark past which caught up to him and has caused heartache. Also the plot twist you will never see coming!!!The only thing I found was it was highly descriptive, which is not a bad thing by any means but sometimes I prefer dialogue lol!Please read it!

What a blazing start to this new series, I loved this introduction to Time River.Caleb Greyson has a haunted past in Seattle and escapes to Time River in Colorado, where he buys a huge ranch.He appears to be the total grumpy billionaire boss, and only cares for the 5 year old Evelyn.When he hires the chaotic whirlwind that is Paisley Dae to teach Evelyn horse riding, let the fireworks begin!!I loved these characters, and the background to their stories.If you enjoy small-town, grumpy/sunshine, with a good storyline, then go grab this!

What a book, thoroughly enjoyed reading every page. There is always a twist in every one of her books. I can't wait for her next book to be released

I can’t begin to describe how much I loved this book. The writing draws you into the heart and minds of the characters immediately. This isn’t your run of the mill romance, it has a bit of everything - attraction, angst, mystery, hot spice 🥵 and a grumpy MMC who steals your heart almost immediately. Easily one of my favourite books of the year!
