Excel line Tennis String offers the samequality as the top brands but only at 1/3 price in the market . It comes in reels of 16g (1.30 mm) and 17g(1.25mm ) . This string is firm , durable and spinfriendly . The slick surface allows the main strings to slide out of alignment, grab the ball and then snapback to add spin to the shot. While all co-poly monofilaments do this to someextent, our lab tests confirm that the slick surface is exceptional in this regard.Though this surface offers a slightly softer feel than traditional polyesters, itis by no means the softest co-poly available. It is an ideal choice for bighitters with heavier racquets seeking maximum control, durability, and spin.

Breaks easily and dies fast
I rarely break strings, but I've broken 3 out of 4 string jobs with Excel Line. I've also broken two during stringing. At first I figured Excel didn't like my grommets or my pre-stretch routine, but the fact is, I just don't break other strings with the same racquets. Even when the Excel line doesn't break, the strings die in about 3-4 hours. I string hybrid with Poly's in the mains and synth gut in the crosses. After about 3-4 hours, Excel dies and also gets kind of "gummy," and doesn't snap back. I'm familiar with hybrid stringing with synth gut crosses, so I know that it's going to get gummy faster than full poly. But not this fast. There's a brittle quality to the Excel Line that leads to string notching and some weaknesses from crimping especially around tight turns most racquets have near the higher mains at that throat. Just not very forgiving and leads to more breaks. As a comparison, you can buy a reel of Tourna Big Hitter for about $1 per racquet more than this. I get about 10-12 or more hours before Big Hitter starts to get out of place and gum up, and they still aren't dead feeling at that point. I really don't have anything great to say about Excel line unless you like to restring every couple of matches, then maybe the price point is OK and you won't suffer a break in that time. The feel is similar to other poly's for the first 4 hours -- stiff, low-powered and boardy -- although the spin isn't as good as with a higher quality poly like RPM or Solinco because it's not as slick and lacks some snapback.

Not the right product as described!
It is NOT "synthetic gut" as described in the title. It is "Polymer Composite Polyester Fiber" on the package. However, their customer service is quick and helpful! So I change my rate to 4 stars.

great price
I like the string a lot I get good spin and pace but I am not sure if I just hit with too much spin and the strings can't handle it because I am breaking strings twice a week.
