I didn't expect any help since Inhad already been using the product for a few weeks. Will update again with results.The lock seemed ok especially because of the low price. My daughter only needed to lock up her bike at school which is already in fenced off area. Lock was easy to set... unfortunately it broke after 3 weeks.

I wanted a few looks to lock a gate to keep random foot traffic down by people. It does deter casual traffic through the gates, but someone really wanting to get through will just use an appropriate cutting device to disable this lock. It worked very well for my purposes, though I would not use it for locking up anything of great value where determined thieves prowl. They were very inexpensive and the combination was very easy to reset.

Cheap light and easy to use. Yeah I know any crook with a good pair of wire cutters is going to get that helmet, but that's not what I'm using it for. Some situations are somewhat secure; very public places, semi secure places, etc. So just a light weight lock that's easy to carry and use to protect against a theft of opportunity.The combo is easy to set IF you come back to the Amazon listing. The lock did not come with any instructions. The number dials turn easily and are easy to read. Oh and did you notice the green matches Kawasaki Lime Green perfectly. All in all for 5 bucks it's a great deal.

I am using this lock as a Helmet lock on my Motorcycle. Most bike locks are much longer and are curly like a telephone cord(for those of you who know what a Telephone cord looks like), and are cumbersome to use as I am. Also the Helmets don't hang up close to the bike and tend to touch the pipes which are hot and can damage the helmets. This lock is the perfect length to go through both full faced Helmets and then the rear luggage rack and they hang neatly from the back. Plus with the ability to select my own combination it's easy for me and my wife to remember it.

Day 1: Set the code. We've done this plenty of times before. Feels finicky, but off to school my son rides with his new bike lock for the new school bike rack. Fast forward to 3:45pm. My phone rings at work. It's the school principal. Is my son being expelled from first grade?! No. She is trying to get his bike lock unstuck. No luck. Son walks home to my spouse, who goes to try to free the bike himself. No dice. I ride home from work on my bike, stop by the school on the way to fidget with the lock in the freezing rain. Only after about five minutes do I realize I'm being watched by the school police officer. No, sir, I swear this is my own kid's bike. Bike sleeps at the school. Fast forward, day 2. Spouse ends up freeing the bike with one snip of the bolt cutter. Before the watchful eyes of the school cop again. Yes, we had to steal our own bike from the elementary school bike rack. Lesson 1: This lock is a piece of junk and may trap your bike. Lesson 2: It certainly won't protect your bike, at least not from anybody who has the world's most rudimentary little bolt cutter. Spend the extra $5 on a lock that works.

WARNING: It works as expected and seems a good value for my purpose. However, it's packaged with the most absurd and incomprehensible instructions I have ever seen. The nearly microscopic 3 sentences of instruction are all but illegible, even under high magnification. The 6 "illustrations" provided in the instructions are half the size of a thumbnail (!) and the quality is so bad as to make them useless. I would have returned it having failed to set it up had I not discovered the relatively easy, reasonable instructions under the Amazon product info. If the Amazon instructions would have been provided with the lock, I would have had no problem, nor any complaint whatsoever.

This lock is pretty easy to pick. DO NOT BUY FOR AN EXPENSIVE BIKE.I got this for 5$ and I park my bike exclusively in campus and my apartment both of which are very safe places and my bike is a used one I got on the cheap.If you need the cheapest bike lock, go for this. It works :)
