Our robots can not only be controlled with a smartphone app and the record mode, thanks to the open source platform Arduino it’s even possible to program them. App-controlled robots With the Wheeler Set by Tinkerbots you can build your own robot and remotely control it. All you need to do is to install our Tinkerbots app which can be downloaded for free for iOS and Android. After that, the smartphone or tablet can be connected to the Powerbrain via Bluetooth and the Roadster or Android L30 can be controlled. Teachable robots Tinkerbots robots can even learn. By using the record and playback mode, you can teach them certain motions which they memorize and repeat. Just press the record button, move the motion modules up and down, from the left to the right or twist them. The motions are now recorded and they can be played every time the play button is pressed. Compatible with other bricks In order to boost creativity even further, the Tinkerbots building kits are equipped with a special adapter. It enables a connection of Tinkerbots with bricks from other systems like LEGO® and Mega Bloks. This means that all the old LEGO® bricks that everyone has at home can be used to build exciting new robots. Tinkerbots motion modules The Wheeler Set contains a Powerbrain, two motion modules as well as different bricks, wheels, axles and a brick adapter for LEGO®. The Powerbrain is the most important element of the building kit. It powers all the other modules and it can be connected to a computer via USB. The two included motion modules from the Wheeler Set are the Pivot which pans to the right and the left and the Motor module which moves axles and wheels. But there are even more exciting motion modules in the world of Tinkerbots. The Twister rotates in 180 degrees and everything attached to it. The Grabber catches everything within its reach. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Smart. Creative. Exciting. How did you come up with the idea for this product? The story of Tinkerbots started at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. In his production design studies, Tinkerbots founder Leo had the task to develop a wish machine. The inspiration for that came from his own childhood. He remembered how much he loved playing with building blocks and his Game Boy. These childhood memories encouraged him to develop his own building kit which can be used to build nearly anything one can wish for. What makes your product special? Tinkerbots is an innovative toy where entertainment and education are predominant. The robot building kit offers unlimited possibilities to be creative, an app control and a record mode. With the brick adapter from our building kits Tinkerbots can also be connected to other systems like LEGO® and Mega Bloks. What has been the best part of your startup experience?
