how to connects to pc

Hi Linda, don't think of this as a normal scanner. Think of it more as a card reader. The only way I've gotten this connect to the PC is to use the SD card and scan to that. Then either switch on the IOD and choose the PC connection to see the Contents of the SD card. Or remove the SD card put it in a normal card reader.Hope that helps

Are the photos produced the same quality as if you were to get it professionally developed?

I don't really understand this question. With my Scanner I scanned slides which saved the images on the SD card. I did not print photos. One comment I would make however is- when you use the scanner you must be very careful to make sure your slides or negatives are dust free so they don't transfers dust particles onto the lens of the scanner. You must also clean the lens at regular intervals so that you don't end up with dust spots saved on your images.
