Incredibly Entertaining Party Game
Bought a copy of this game after playing with some friends over the weekend. Just to clarify, Amazon sent me the wrong version. I received the deluxe version with the HUNTING PARTY expansion instead of the WOLFPACK expansion. I'm actually happy about this because I consider the HUNTING PARTY expansion to be the better of the two. The Breakdown: - It says you can play with as few as 5 people, but you should probably have at LEAST 6 (one to be game master). The more the better though, and it's not always easy to get a group that large together. - Sometimes the cards are vague and don't explain themselves well enough, so go over the rules for each card with everyone before starting any games. - Beautiful artwork! - Probably some of the most fun I've had playing games. We don't exactly play it PG, and alcohol only makes it more enjoyable. - Clever game play, and there are FOUR expansions that add new dimension. - I feel like deck protectors are a smart purchase to make with this depending on how rough your pals are with cardstock The Bottom Line: So. Much. Fun. All the lying and ridiculous accusations make for really animated and hilarious games. Switching out cards every round makes the game super dynamic and gives everyone a chance to play various roles in a very short period of time. Super easy to pick up, and it's so compact I'll gladly take it with me to every get-together and party.

Great Game for Big Groups
I've had a lot of success using this with a large group (10-25 people). Players are given a "role". Most players are villagers, but a few are secretly werewolves, and the villager team must eliminate the werewolves before the werewolves eliminate the villagers. What's great about the deluxe version is that it adds a LOT of roles. There are plain villagers, but also many other options that you can mix in to keep things fresh. The "seer" can try to find werewolves at night. The "revealer" can try to guess who a werewolf is, but at the risk of being eliminated. You can add roles that have their own goals, outside of the villagers and werewolves. Compared to other "werewolf" games, this is a great choice, especially for larger groups. The regular "ultimate werewolf" is the same game, just with fewer cards. "One night werewolf" is similar, but is a shorter game for a little smaller group. Overall, a great game.

It's just as easy to look up the basic rules on Wikipedia and ...
I played this game a few times with friends. Our group size varied between 6 to 12. It should be noted that one need not buy anything to play Werewolf. It's just as easy to look up the basic rules on Wikipedia and scratch out characters on 3"x5" notecards. Very fun and amusing. The key to success is in the narrators ability to keep the game moving. I found the hardest part of the game is initiating the lynching during day break. Most people I play with don't want to accuse others of wrong doing without having a hint of suspicion. That's where a good narrator is most important. The job of a narrator is to be impartial, but when playing in a totally passive crowd, the game can become stagnant. A good narrator will keep things lively and possibly throw in seeds of suspicion. Think of the old Bud Light beer commercials of the guy that starts the argument of "tastes great" vs "less filling". That narrator need not root out the wolf. That would be cheating. Provoking suspicion with a side story will definitely help in keeping the game in motion. As for this particular version of the game, I give it a 5 star rating. $20 may seem like a lot for a mere deck of cards for a simple parlor game, but it's $20 of saved time and the cards provide a nice theme. This version also has several variations of characters to help keep the game interesting. I've seen other pre printed cards for this game and I find this to be the best of the bunch. Tasteful artwork with amusing characters. The quality of the box and packaging is top notch.

We LOVE this game!
We LOVE this game! It's simple enough that just about anyone can play it! We played with my 10 year old brother and my parents who love simple games (Uno/LCR etc.) The entire fun of this game is in the interactions. It's a fantastic ice breaker game for group dates and can accommodate a MASSIVE number of players at once. All that anyone holds is a single card each round. You could even turn these in to the moderator. We found that this game is most fun with groups of 7+. Smaller groups can leave the game feeling very short and if you want to play with a group smaller than that, consider "One Night Ultimate Werewolf". If you are looking for a fantastic, unique party game, this is it! Essentially, it is Mafia if you've played that. The difference here is that it has 40+ unique roles that add a ton of replay value. We played this for 5 hours straight with my family, staying up until after 2:00 AM. This is a must have for party gamers.

Totally captivating
I bought this game for a game night that I was hosting and it turned out to be interesting and totally fun. We were a group of 17-18 friends and this game can accommodate even more people. Everyone of us enjoyed it. The good thing about this game is that you can choose as many cards as you want and also the types you want to include. However, this game consists of 75 cards which makes it very complicated. Also, the rule book is not well written. So check some youtube videos and refer the rulebook of the simple edition of one night werewolf if you are having trouble to understand how it is played.

There are so many versions to this game. Instead of werewolves, I was always playing Mafia, but this is definitely the best version. It also has an expansion pack which adds a little twist to it. Many hours of fun with many people!
