Top Rated Dash Cam
After extensive research, I chose this dash cam because it ranks at number one in most categories for recorded image and video quality. What I like about this dash cam:1. Ability to transfer data from the dash cam to my phone using WiFi 5G for quick viewing.2. The dash cam can be easily removed from the windshield attachment because it's magnetic.3. 4K resolution recording for the front of the camera. Only 1080p for cabin and rear.4. Ability to sync with my phone.Minor setbacks about this cam:1. Can only record at 30 FPS.2. The phone app is a bit slow, but overall I am happy with it.Setting up the dash cam was easy, but updating it required using the Vantrue phone app. You have to sync your phone to the dash cam's WiFi network and push the update to the dash cam via your phone. Also, make sure you have a micro SD card in your dash cam or else you cannot update it. Once updated, you are good to go.The default settings in the app is looped to 1 minutes recordings and you are done at this point. There are other settings that you can tinker around with such as exposure and G-Sensor and parking mode, etc. I left most of the settings as default and the recordings were fine for both daytime and nighttime. I have a 256GB micro SD card installed in my dash cam but it can handle up to 512GB.The box includes two long USB-C cables--one to connect to power the dash cam and another one is to connect to the rear cam. I have mine installed in a 2018 Toyota Prius and have no issues with cable length. The kit comes with two electrostatic plastics to assist with mounting the front and rear cameras. It also comes with two adhesive wipes to help increase the adhesion of the electrostatic plastics. The electrostatic plastic is a layer of plastic that you place onto your glass windshield to prevent the sticky residue from the actual mount itself if you decide to remove the dash cam. Once you install it, you can then mount your dash cam onto the electrostatic plastic.I love that you can view the dash cam using your phone via the app because it made setting up the dash cam so much easier. This was especially helpful when setting up the rear cam because I was able to adjust the viewing angle by checking my phone rather than running back and forth to view it on the dash cam. In short, without this feature I recommend setting up the rear cam first before installing the dash cam in the front. Another thing is that you can use the phone app to change all the settings on the dash cam itself from your phone so you don't have to adjust the settings on the dash cam itself using the 4 tiny buttons. The 4K image quality is great, but you won't be able to read license plates most of the time. This is true for all 4K dash cam on the market. In some rare cases you can make out the license plate but it is best to snap a photo of the license plate using your phone if you do get into an accident. There is a feature called PlatePix which is software to help increase license plate visibility but I have not experimented with it.The dash cam can record only at 30 FPS in various combinations and resolutions: Front+Cabin+Rear, Front+Rear, Front+Cabin, or Front. Note that only the front camera is 4K while the rear and cabin will always be 1080p. It is unfortunate that it cannot go up to 60 FPS because this may help with increase visibility for capturing better license plate images. The phone app works but does need some optimization. Overall it works and that's all that matters. Thankfully the app does not ask you to create an account. Just install and sync with the dash cam's WiFi network to connect.Overall, I rate this dash cam as 4.5/5 stars.Everyone should have a dash cam in their car to save themselves the hassle in the rare case when they will need it as proof to insurance companies. Not everyone on the road is honest and a video recording will clear up most situations. I consider it as insurance and it will most likely pay for itself in the long run.

Great features
I have one of the Vantrue dash cams on my motorcycle for a couple of years and love it. I was asked by Vantrue to review this unit and agreed based on my experience with their other product. This dashcam was not difficult to install. It came with clear cling type adhesives to put on the windows first so that the more permanent adhesive on the mounts would not damage the glass or be difficult to remove later. I liked that the 12V power adapter had built-in USB ports so that if you had existing USB chargers in your 12V cigarette lighter socket, you could replace them with this power adapter and still be able to charge your USB devices.I was concerned that it would be difficult to route the rear camera wire to my back window. I have a 2018 F150 pickup truck, and it ended up being pretty easy. There was a console mounted to my windshield that I could easily pop the cover from and route the wire through. Then I ran it along the ceiling trim over to the door frame. I had to only remove one trim panel piece with a couple of screws and the rest of the routing was as simple as tucking the wire behind the interior trim. I was pleasantly surprised. The picture quality is determined by the resolution selected. You can have a full-resolution front camera only or choose lower resolutions for the rear and front cameras or the rear, interior, and front cameras. This was a little disappointing because I expected all cameras to be at full resolution at the same time when recording. The one other complaint is that it did not come with a memory card. I tried to use a memory card from an existing dashcam but kept getting an error that it was too slow. So, you will need a sufficiently fast memory card for this camera. Thankfully, they are not expensive for smaller cards.I like that whenever there is a sudden movement on the vehicle, it will trigger to keep the recording. I think the intention is to keep recordings if you are in an accident or if someone hits the vehicle. It is a bit sensitive and triggers whenever I hit a pothole or speed bump but I imagine that can be adjusted in the settings if I wanted to.The app is pretty good. It allows you to connect via WiFi to the camera to view the recordings and if you want, to download them to the phone. I use the same app for the motorcycle dash cam, and it's pretty good.I had previously used a less expensive dashcam from Costco that was OK, but this one is much nicer and has nicer features as well as higher resolution. I'm happy that Vantrue offered the unit for me to review, and I'm happy with the product. I would definitely recommend this specific camera as well as the brand.
