If you're planning a destination wedding, you'll want to read this book first. It covers everything you would want to know about planning a wedding away from home. Lots of tips and advice starting with whether a destination wedding is right for you and going on to cover organizing and budgeting, finding the right destination, making your travel arrangments, and, of course, the wedding ceremony. There's a chapter on emergencies you may face and how to handle them, as well as ways to save money on a destination wedding.

I highly recommend this book for anyone thinking about having a destination wedding. It gave great advice and explained everything in an easy to read manner. It brought up details my fiance and I never even thought about. This is a must-have for anyone planning a destination wedding.

This is a helpful book! You will never mind "The Perfect Wedding Planner" for a destination wedding. Every destination is completely different. I found getting this and "The Knot Wedding Planner" to be helpful together. I ended making my own spreadsheets with timelines, budgets... etc. on Excel. If you are planning a destination wedding, get this book and read it with your fiance, it's fun!! :)

I found this book to be very helpful for planning a destination weddings, but, unfortunately, there was some VERY BAD etiquette advice from the author. She approved of couples getting secretly married at home and then having a pretend "wedding" at their destination, without telling any of their guests. Ack! No! She wrote that it was OK to invite lots of people to a bridal shower or bachelorette party who were not invited to the wedding, and confessed that she had done this herself. No! This is basic etiquette 101! She also approved of "inviting" people on a cruise ship wedding held at sea, but said that the guests should pay for their own cruise. Invite someone to pay for admission to your wedding? No! Other than this, the book contained very good information about marriage requirements in various popular destinations, and good planning tips. A mixed bag, but a good tool if you ignore the bad etiquette advice.

This book helped me tremendously! Thank you for writing it! It not only helps with the overwhelming task of determining your location, but with the little things you don't think about right away - different customs, tip expectations, etc. I read this book cover to cover and planned a beautiful wedding in Mexico with its help. I would recommend it to anyone planning a destination wedding.

I read this book cover to cover...TWICE! I love it! I really had no idea whatsoever about how to plan a destination wedding just knew we wanted to. This book is practical and realistic. It simplifies every detail of destination wedding planning. Even the things you would have never thought to consider! This is a destination bride-to-be must-have!

Not worth the money

Just did our wedding and don't know where I'd have started without this book. Simple easy guide for an event that can become hectic without knowledge. My wedding went beautifully and this really helped steer me in the right direction.
