This incense stick holder has been cut and carved by hand from reclaimed meranti wood in central Scotland. I have recently added a bit more length and width to the design to accommodate longer incense sticks. Having used incense stick holders for some time I find the ones that I usually come across have ash catching channels that are shallow and narrow. My holders have a wider deeper depression, meaning less precision lining up of the stick, less trips to the bin, and greater surety that the ash will stay put. Meranti is a commonly used hardwood in garden furniture or interior facings, very often smothered in paint or stain. This incense burner has been finished with linseed oil only, achieving a more natural look at a wood that has its own innate beauty. It measures approximately 25.5cm (10") long and 3.2cm (1 1/4") wide. If you are looking for an incense holder made from a particular wood species or if you would prefer a different finish, please drop me a wee message.
