WEN4800-Watt Portable Inverter Generator, RV-Ready, Quiet and Lightweight with Fuel Shut Off (56477i)

This generator was packed very well and arrived in perfect condition. All accessories mentioned in the description were included. After unboxing it, I read through the manual. 20 ounces of 10W30 oil were included but I elected to use 5W30 synthetic oil instead, given its temperature range flexibility. Oil fill was easy using the included siphon. I added StaBil to 2 gallons of ethanol-free gas then filled the generator's tank. I switched to Choke and it started on the first pull. I turned the dial to Run and it ran smoothly after a few seconds. I plugged my 3-light tester into one of the 120 outlets and voltage read at about 124 volts but an open ground was indicated. Not all users of this inverter generator might care about the open ground but I can't use it that way. A neutral-ground plug (many brands are available in Amazon) can solve this problem but it would be helpful if that was mentioned somewhere in the product description or manual. Attaching a ground wire from the generator's ground plug to an earth ground doesn't solve the open ground condition. Just an FYI for those new to an inverter generator. Other than that one gripe, I'm very happy with this generator.

We RV full-time and need a generator with enough power to run both of our air conditioners simultaneously plus a few other things, about 3600 watts. This generator does that perfectly! I ran it with under a 50% load for the 8 hour break-in period, changed the oil (which was gray and thick by then), and have tested it to ensure that it provides our needed load. It does so and with significantly less noise than I expected, even for an inverter generator. Starting it is very easy and only takes 1-2 pulls. Also, it has run 12 hours, most of that with about an 1,800 watt load, on only 3.5 gallons of gasoline. To ensure continued successful operation, I will only use ethanol-free gasoline in it to which I will be adding 1 ounce of Seafoam per gallon of gasoline, and I will always run the carburetor empty of gasoline to shut it off.

Super quiet and works great. The handle makes it easy to roll around and the connections and directions are easy to understand. I use it for my camper but I live in FL so I also will be prepared for any storms that happen to come along. It starts on the first or second pull every time. Use ethanol free gas, use the fuel cutoff when you are not going to use it for more than a couple of days, do the break in and oil changes, and don't leave fuel sitting in it for a long time and it should last a long time. It's the perfect size to fit in the back of my truck with the tonneau cover on so it's hidden and it's not too heavy to lift or move around. This generator provided more than enough power for my 30amp camper and I used the AC, the microwave, lights, and who knows what else we had plugged in and there was hardly a noticeable power draw.

Seems to run well and starts up nice and easy, says its 62db at quart load but honestly I think its less then that... I also had the WEN 2350watt generator before this and that was advertised at 53db at quarter load. And id say this is honestly just as quiet and even quieter then the 2350 with eco mode off if you compare the two! My only complaint so far is theirs something loose rolling around inside on the bottom of the generator like bolt or nut that was dropped during assembly and never retrieved. So now I gotta tear it all down to find whats rattling. Its not the wheels because i can hear it slide from the front to the back of the generator when I pick it up

Arrived, brand new, and was inoperable. My generator showed up today. I followed the manual for setup, using the oil provided and brand new premium gas. The generator will start on "choke", but dies as soon as I try to switch the dial to "run". I tried letting it run awhile and it still died as soon as I move the dial. I've got a request in to their customer service. I'll update this review with any resolution.WEN customer service offered 2 options. They could send me a shipping label and I could send it back for them to send a new unit; or they had a couple of local small engine repair shops that handle their warranty work. As I had a camping trip coming in 5 days, I elected to take it to a shop. The shop had to pull and clean the carbs, and WEN refused to cover the charge, as it was a "gas related item." Again, this was a brand new unit, and I put brand new, premium, gas in it. I paid the $147 to get my generator back and emailed the customer service rep that I had spoken with over the phone. I was asked to send my order details, again, and the rep put in a claim to reimburse me for the repairs. I am told that the payment will be sent on 7/25/25.Ultimately, the matter will be resolved, but beware dealing with WEN customer service/warranty work and save all your documentation if you go with this company!
