It works like it should. I just don't like the way it works.
The app is easy to install, and this is the first part I don't like. You must provide an email address to activate the app. Then, it asks for a bunch of personal information, of which a phone number is required. I used a throw away email and a fake phone number, but still, I don't prefer the time it takes to do all this just to use an app. The adapter connected to the car fine and the app worked OK. My car is older, so there weren't a lot of sensors it had access to. It had a problem trying to clear a code that was stored. Again, maybe this was because my car is older, but I have used other devices to clear codes on it many times without fail. The realtime monitoring is actually pretty good. You can add sensors to the screen for various things you want to see while diagnosing the car.If you have never used something like this before, this will probably work fine for you. If, like me, you have been doing this for years, you will understand why I don't like this adapter. It is not ELM327 compatible. It will not work with Torque or any other standard OBDII diagnostic software. It will only work with its own app. And that is the only major flaw. But that is a huge flaw for me as I was hoping this could go in my stash of OBDII connectors for diagnosing cars.

The large, intuitive display provides clear and concise information, making it accessible even for those who may not be tech-savvy.The real-time data monitoring feature is a standout. Being able to monitor crucial parameters such as engine RPM, coolant temperature, and oxygen sensor readings in real-time has been immensely helpful. It provides valuable insights into the performance of my vehicle, allowing me to identify and address issues before they escalate. The OBD2 Scanner's extensive code database covers a wide range of vehicles, making it compatible with various makes and models. Whether you drive a domestic or import car, this scanner is likely to have you covered. The Bluetooth connectivity allows seamless pairing with smartphones and tablets, transforming the device into a powerful diagnostic tool on the go. The dedicated app provides detailed insights, historical data, and even offers recommendations for common issues. In terms of build quality, the OBD2 Scanner feels robust and durable. The compact design makes it easy to store in my toolbox or glove compartment, ensuring that it's always within reach when needed. The device also comes with a protective carrying case, adding an extra layer of convenience for transportation and storage. In conclusion, the OBD2 Scanner is a must-have for anyone who takes car maintenance seriously. Okay OBDII code reader, fault reseter and scan tool. Slow data throughput.
This is a pretty good OBDII bluetooth adapter, but it's just too slow, quite slower than cheap 12 dollar OBDII that I've had for almost 5 years now by Veepeak Mini Blue. My older unit also has double the capabilities and functions compared to this unit by FNIRSI.I've tested this up with the weird looking default app called YMOBD and even though you can read and reset your car's fault codes, I still much prefer my old trusty app Torque app. I have the Pro license of Torque and it's much more comprehensive and advanced in every way. That YMOBD app requires location and personal information to operate and access the apps main screen. I also do not like that the YMOBD demands you to provide an email to get an activation code, and once you get to the app by entering the provided code via email, you'll still have to provide a phone number in order to use the app. That's not cool. I value my privacy and I'm certain my fellow Amazon shoppers feel the same way. Just put a fake telephone number.Again, you can skip all that YMOBD app nonsense and use another OBDII app off Google Play Store or Apple Store. There's no instruction manual inside the box. But I'll give you a brief walk-through. It's not too difficult.Just make sure you add the OBDII bluetooth adapter to your device by entering 1234 as password. Once that's established, you can get into your OBDII app of choice and select the proper MAC address and you'll be all set. Most apps will detect the OBDII adapter as a valid OBDII. You might not even need to chose the bluetooth adapter manually, but be prepared to do so if that's not the case.I managed to get an error code reset from my wife's car, so that works pretty good. But the app connection speed is slow. There are tons of these inexpensive bluetooth OBDII adapters here on Amazon. This one works alright right out of the box and doesn't cost a lot of money, although there are cheaper and better adapters out there such as Veepeaks. The difference is minor but it's there.

Could not get app to connect
I did not want to provide detailed personal information in order to use the app for this device. I see no reason for this company to have that data in order to use the app. The app claims to offer the ability to use "guest mode" to see a limited set of data, but after trying to connect to the device at least ten times in "guest mode", nothing ever happened. I'm not giving up my data to test this device, so this thing is a no go for me.
