Don’t buy!
The hardware is pretty good, but the software just plain stinks. And VueScan, which is supposed to be compatible worked one time and never again. I’m spending way too much time and on the verge of sending it back.I’m really disappointed, I thought I could have a good 120 scanner but this is a dud!

Barely works
This piece of plastic has awful software, is not supported by any scanning software other than stock one. This does very loud noise while scanning, so I do not have any hope for this to be working more than a yearMoreover the first thing I've heard from support because the item software reports an error "the light is too dark, restart the app" is a hardware problem and should be returned back!Omg, do you even test this crap when manufacturing?Guess what as Ive ordered outside us all this crap should be returned back and I do not know how to return 400$ of import tax in the case I will send it backIt has not accurate focus for 120 filmAnd is a total disaster and I'm more than upset and angry that such low quality product is sold for such a high priceI wish I would support company that still supports photographers using film but this is more just a sort of marketing scam than a working productI would not recommend anyone to even try to buy it

Detail is great, product released way too early.
Software is the biggest issue with this product. The only scan software that works is horrible, colors are all wanky and the software is slow. Not many settings you can choose such as sharpness. I think once vuescan works with this scanner it will be much better.120 scans super sharp and detailed.35mm slides aren’t sharp at all. I compared to a fuji frontier scan and that has a lot more grain detail.

I like it
I am happy with the image quality, and the latest version of the software works well once you are past the learning curve on my PC. I'm not a professional photographer, but I am able to get the images I want from my 120 film and further process them in Photoshop.

Not a true 6400 DPI scanner. Included software is unreliable.
This scanner has a 3200 DPI optical resolution. The 6400 DPI scanning functionality involves some software interpolation and does not significantly improve the quality of the scans. The software that is included (CyberView X5 5.20.47 as of writing) is barely usable. A typical scanning workflow involves previewing, crop/settings adjustments, and then scanning. CyberView will often crash or scan the wrong region.Scans at full resolution take only a few moments to capture, but the software does extra "processing" that can take anywhere from 3-10 minutes. It is not clear what it is doing, as CPU usage is minimal.VueScan does not yet support this scanner, at all, and Linux support is "not possible".Dynamic range is impressive. It is able to pull more shadow and highlight detail out of slides than the legendary Minolta DiMAGE Multi Pro. Scan quality is approximately the same for medium format as that 2005-era scanner. The medium format tray is difficult to use and does not do a good job with keeping the film flat. The other trays are fine.
