You're heading into another dimension......
This is where it all began - the grand daddy of all TV Science Fiction.Considering these were made 51 years ago they are still outstandingly good thanks to the high quality writing of maestro Rod Serling.Great teleplays with brilliant twists in the tale at the end - the only difference between this and earlier seasons is that you get 18 x 50 minute episodes as opposed to the earlier 25 minute episodes - this is because it almost got cancelled and was only brought back as a mid season replacement. This leads to quite a lot of padding in several of the episodes, but the best episodes easily convert to the longer episode length, namely In His Image, Death Ship and On Thursday We Leave For Home.Make sure you buy the Blu-Ray versions for the superior picture quality and extras, makes them look like they were filmed yesterday as they have been taken direct from the original negatives.Shame other series aren't given this high quality treatment.Simply Stunning, a must buy!

Twilight Zone 4th season - an amazing blu ray
The 4th season of The Twilight Zone saw a change in format. Instead of the half hour format the episodes were increased in length to an hour. This allowed for more of a build up and time to develop the characters and plot, but it also resulted in some rather pointless padding to some episodes. I have to say I really enjoyed most of the episodes in the 4th season. Death Ship with Jack Klugman being one of my favourite episode. The hour length format was not considered a success and the show reverted to its half hour length for the 5th and final season. The blu ray is amazing with some very interesting commentary tracks and special features. The episodes have been remastered and the sound and picture quality are amazing. All 5 seasons of the original Twilight Zone are available on blu ray. I love all the series but have a real soft spot for the 4th season.

Twilight Zone! Still the best version.
Decent quality on this bluray product. Everything is nicely layed out and is easily navigated. As for the Twilight Zone and the material on the disc, well it speaks for itself! One of the most iconic franchises in television history!!

Not As Brilliant As The Other Seasons
For some strange reason Rod Serling and team decided to make this series in hour long episodes, this had the effect of removing the impact and punchiness of the half hour ones. It is still a fantastic edition for anyone collecting the entire 1-5 seasons, but if you are buying a season for the first time, get one of the others first.

Still Impressive
These hour long episodes are not as engaging as the 30min version. I suspect these longer episodes were made to compete with The Outer Limits of the time. All are watchable, beautifully acted and filmed. U.S. TV of even the early 60's had big budgets and run like film productions. Still a joy to watch and a handful of them do have something to say. Very fine indeed!

Staffel 4 beinhaltet folgende Episoden:1. "In His Image"2. "The Thirty-Fathom Grave"3. "Valley of the Shadow"4. "He's Alive"5. "Mute"6. "Death Ship"7. "Jess-Belle"8. "Miniature"9. "Printer's Devil"10."No Time Like the Past"11."The Parallel"12."I Dream of Genie"13."The New Exhibit"14."Of Late I Think of Cliffordville"15."The Incredible World of Horace Ford"16."On Thursday We Leave for Home"17."Passage on the Lady Anne"18."The Bard"Wünschenswert wäre alleinig gewesen, jeder Staffel ein individuelles DVD-Menü zu gestalten.
