In Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, the MCU expands to the far reaches of the galaxy. Peter Quill rallies his unlikely team to embark on a dicey, action-packed mission to protect one of their own. And a new force threatens to bring the Guardians down for Good.

Evolution in action
A new Marvel movie. Third in the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' series. You will need to have seen the first two in order to get into this. And 'Avengers: Infinity War'/ 'Avengers: Endgame'. But you doubtless have if you're reading this. There was also a christmas special which streamed on Disney plus. That is referenced in a newspaper seen one scene. But beyond that you will survive if you haven't seen it.Anyway, The Guardians are still doing things. Starlord is not really dealing with the loss of Gamora and hoping in vain that other Gamora will fall for him. Then Rocket's past rears it's head. And they find why he never talks about it....A matter of opinion, but I think this is a bit of a step up on the past few Marvel films. What helps is that it is able to do it's own thing. It's rather like a Dc comics movie. Which IMHO have been a little better for a bit because they have been able to do such, and have their own style and tell what stories they want. This tells it's own story. It doesn't set up anything for other films. It's all the better for that.It does also deal with loss and grief a bit better than Black Panther: Wakanda Forever managed. There's plenty of action. The usual characters shouting at each other as plans go wrong. But realising they love each other anyway. All the humour does come out of the characters and their dialogue, so that is how it should be.It does have one of the best villains a Marvel movie has ever managed, in the shape of the High Evolutionary. A really strong character with believable motivations and he is very well played indeed. It is though rather dark. In the Rocket stuff. Very dark. Getting into areas of animal abuse and vivisection. I would have made this a fifteen cert not the twelve it is, because these parts are really not going to be good for younger kids. You have been strongly advised parents. You do get one character, as a result of it following on from one of the end credit scenes in the second film. One comic fans will know. He's not bad. And there's nothing 'woke' about any of this. Which some may be glad to hear. Just saying. The set pieces do have some jeopardy to them. Which hasn't always been the case of late.It does round off this as a trilogy. Which just about works. It does all come from the characters. It does feel it could have gone on for more in this way, but It had to be. And it works well enough. Not a bad watch. Not quite as good as the first two, largely because of the darker parts being so dark. But a good character movie. You have to wonder if this studio will manage any more. There are two extra scenes. Middle end credits and end end credits. Neither are essential, but they're worth seeing. As ever there's no extras on the dvd at all.Language and subtitle options:Languages: English. Spanish. English audio description.Subtitles: English. Spanish. Danish. Dutch. Finnish. Norwegian. Swedish.

Fantastic.
All 3 Guardians films are amongst my favourite MCU films. This has action, humour but most of all an emotional backstory. One of the best trilogies ever.

entertaining
if you are not familiar with GOTG films, and are showing to younger children, be aware of some milder course language etc in this film.
