BMW Longlife 01 or 04? The BMW manual says Longlife 04 preferred for diesel engines, the image on the website shows Longlife 01 printed on front of can, the description says Longlife 04 and the customers image shows Longlife 04 printed on the back.  Is this oil Longlife 04 or 01 or doesnt it really matter?

Castrol uses a proprietary additive formula (FST Titanium). I do not know if this formula allows the oil to exceed specifications not listed for the product.This is a LongLife 04 approved oil.LL04 is approved by BMW to be used instead of LL01 when low sulfur fuel is used. In some locations (many states in the USA), do not have low sulfur in which case LL01 should be used if you maintain the extended service interval of 1 year or 15000 miles.LL04 oil will have Lower Sulfur and Phosphorous (Low SAPs) in order to preserve the life of catalytic converters and Diesel Engine Particulate filters, however lower SAPs is generally thought to reduce the life of the additives in the oil which means optimal protection may not last the entire service interval. LL04 can still be used but those passionate about their engines may want to change the oil more frequently than 1yr/15,000 miles to maintain optimal protection.Note: BMW LL01 exceeds ACEA A3/B4 spec oil. (Oil with High Temp/High Shear of 3.5 or higher; increases protection at cost of economy).ACEA C3 matches and/or exceeds A3/B4 specifications. (Increased Fuel Economy and Service Life of Cat. Conv. and DPF)BMW LL04 exceeds LL01 and ACEA C3 spec. (Slightly higher wear/sluge/thickening Protection)Also, this oil meets MB229.51 specs which slightly matches and/or exceeds BMW LL04 in sludge/fuel eco, but may be lower in wear/thickening depending on which MB229.51 spec is used (2009 vs 2012).The highest specifications I've seen are VW 504 / 507 / Porsche C30 (for engine protection) or MB229.52 (for Fuel Eco.) You will probably only find VW/Porsche spec oil in 5W-30 weight at this time. 0W-30 is expected to come out later in 2015.

Why is cheaper here but on other places like Halford is expensive. Is there any quality difference?

Amazon buy it in bulk and because they are a world wide organisation, they are able to negotiate effectively. The quality is exactly the same as that sold at Halfords, eurocarparts. Please check the oil is suitable for your car before you purchase it.
You can do this by going to the Castrol website. I do know it is NOT suitable for BMW engines. I have a Honda Accord with 148,000 mile on the clock and I have used this oil for 4 years with no issues. Hope this helps.

Depends on engine , castrol do a oil selector on website , link attached , always find amazon cheapest for oil , also recommend sound a fortè oil flush with every oil change (keeps engine clean)

Can i use this oil for my vw polo 05?

As far as i can see on the castrol website this 0w 30 is suitable for all 05 polos if you enter your reg into the castrol search page it will give you the correct castrol product but as far as i could see this was the correct oil
