SP2 Steel Guitar, Chrome

Firstly, it is HEAVY, but the tone is better than any other tone bar I’ve tried and the quality of the metal and the workmanship is perfect. Cheaper bars I’ve tried were ok but not nearly as nice to use or as nice sounding, so if you’re going to take the instrument seriously and your hands are in decent shape then this is the one to buy.

As someone who plays guitar as a hobby (as opposed to an actual musician) I purchased this slide as an extra weapon in my arsenal of toys to play with while playing guitar. The slide is sleek, comfortable and heavy and overall works very well for my purposes.

Perfect for using with a lap steel guitar. Heavy, shiny and beautifully made. Feels great in the hand and gives a lovely tone. If you are after a lap steel slide I thoroughly recommend the Shubb SP2.

This is a very good item for use on a lap steel. Extremely well-made no sharp edges but very heavy. It’s worth five stars for its construction and design. But unfortunately, only three stars for its weight in my case. My grandson struggles with this and we’ve reverted to the traditional Tube type.

As this is the first tone bar I've ever bought I have no idea how it compares with others, but it's nice and heavy and after a few days felt comfortable in my hand.

This is a well made product that is very comfortable in the hand. It feels 'just right'. I just wish it included some secret element that would help me topple Jerry Douglas from the top spot!

I'm just learning lap steel guitar and started with a Stevens bar, which is cut straight at the ends. I found the ends were snagging on the strings. Certainly as my technique gets better I'd learn to avoid this problem, but then I tried this SP-2 and it immediately made playing a lot easier and better sounding. It's heavier than a Stevens bar which helps prevent buzzes, and the contoured ends keep me from snagging strings inadvertently. I got the SP-2 because I'm playing 6-string and the length is just right. The SP-1 is a little longer and would be the choice if you're playing 8-string lap steel. Glad I gave this bar a shot, it's helped immeasurably!

I love that it has the pointed and rounded ends.
