FLEXCUT SLIPSTROP Slip STROP Carving Tool Sharpener with Sharpening Compound

Great gadget for keeping your tools sharp. Easy to use

I purchased this item as an addition to my Flexcut Whittling Knives and Chisels which are all brilliant tools. I previous used old leather scraps with polishing compound to keep my knives sharp which worked for many years. However, since investing in Flexcut Carving Chisels I have found no better way of keeping them sharp than this system.This strop is a double sided system. On one side is a large piece of flat leather (around 100mm/4inch square) which is used for the knives and the outside edge of the carving chisels. On the side is a series of shaped strops specifically designed to match the contours of Flexcut Chisels (although other brands also work well). This side is designed to remove the burrs from the internal curve of the chisels after stropping the outside for an ultra sharp cut.If you have never used a strop or would like to know more, Flexcut have a video on YouTube on how to use this product.Its a very good price for what it is, especially as its a Flexcut product and is worth every penny if you own Flexcut Chisels. Great little bit of kit

I sharpened my Pfeil Lino cutters and was very pleased with the fine, clean cuts I was able to make.

Flexcut tools are great quality, but this well if it dodn't come in a flexcut package you wouldn't associate it with them perhaps apart from the expense. The gold past is tapered behind the packaging.....missleading to the size of it. the red strop.....well strop is normally associated with a leather item, only a very small part of this is covered in leather, the rest is just machined plywood, couloured red perhaps to make it look like leather in the packaging again misleading buyers......But together it does make stropping carving tools easyI suspect no one will ever but this twice...once you have seen what it is you will make your own next time
